1965 Ford Econoline “Spring Special” pick up. This truck came out the California desert around the Palm Springs area and has extremely little rust. Bed is solid. Cab is solid. Tailgate is solid. One small area a rust in the inner rocker on the driver side (see pic). That is all the rust that I can find. The driver side rear corner has a small dent where I bumped into it with one of my other cars. The truck was painted before I got it and it was an inexpensive paint job from a franchised car painting chain. There are also numerous chips and scratches. Looks pretty good in the pictures and from 20 feet, but is not going to win any best of show awards. All the trim is in place and in excellent condition. The white inserts were stripped to bare metal and repainted. Front bumper, grille and headlight doors are all in very good shape. Rear bumper has been rechromed, but is a bit wrinkled. Mechanically this truck is in excellent shape. Professionally rebuild 300 CID big six (not the original 240) and professionally rebuild C4 automatic. Both with maybe 100 miles on them. I also had the truck tuned by the local Mustang shop. The truck runs like a Swiss watch. Since I have had the truck, I went through the brakes completely. Everything except a few of the hard lines and the e-brake cables is brand new. This truck has the HD front axle and 9” rear end. So it has the bigger brakes all around. I also stripped the axles to bare metal and repainted them. New shocks all around. All the lights work. The horn works. The wipers work. The temp gauge works, but the fuel gauge does not. The gauge itself is fine, I checked it out before putting the dash back together after painting. The sender must be bad. The fuel tank is solid but does have a dent in the middle where it looks like someone tried to jack up the truck with a floor jack. The seat covers are brand new. The dash, doghouse and door panels were stripped to bare metal and repainted. New arm rests were installed. All new rubber around the cab, including fuzzies, vent window rubber, glass and door rubber. I removed most of the carpet that a previous owner installed, but some still remains on the wheel houses. Rubber floor mat is a few years old and could be replaced. This is an exceptionally rare truck. I bought this and spent a lot of time on it fixing it up for myself. But my interests have taken a different direction, so I am letting it go. This is an above average driver quality truck, not a perfect show truck. Keep this in mind and you will not be disappointed. And I expect to get a refund on my federal income taxes this year. I don't need the money.
