1974 Mercury Max 440

For Sale A really nice 1974 or 1975 Mercury Max 440 snowmobile. I am not sure what year this is, I forgot what the previous owner told me it was. This sled is really nice and I aquired this from the original owner who bought this new from Pontius Marine, he was the local Mercury Outboard/ snowmobile dealer in the early and mid 1970's in the Selinsgrove area. The original dealership stickers are still on the side of the hood of the sled. This was stored inside, never outside as you can see by the pics. The previous owner was real smart and put stabil and engine fog before he stored it 5 years ago, 4 or 5 pulls the sleds comes to life. All the lights work as seen in the pics, the seat is a 7 out of 10 with some small rips as seen in pics, the windshield has no cracks, dash board is in great shape, snow flap is complete with no tears, there is some small amount of surface rust on some of the chrome pieces like the back bars. It has a Kioritz KEC 440/22 engine. I did not clean this sled up when I got it, this is how it was stored and maintained. The cover is complete with a couple of small tears, the cover seems very brittle in spots. Track seems in OK shape, this is a very thick material track with molded rubber cleats. I am selling this because we are Arctic Cat guys and dont know much about Mercury snowmobiles. I hope a Merc collector can benefit with this sled. Buyer is responsible for 100% pick-up of this sled. We will not crate or assist in shipping. I do have a name and phone # of a local gentleman who shuttles snowmobiles across the U.S. which I can forward this info to the buyer. I used his services before and he is very reasonable and very reliable. Downpayment will be $100.00 via paypal within 48hrs of sale close. Balance will be due at time of pick-up. Sled must be pick-up within 7 days of sale close unless other arrangements can be made. We will work with the buyer.
