Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is this 1948 CJ2A Willys Jeep. It is currently titled and registered in Arizona as a 1948, although after doing some research I found that the serial #(113020) indicates it is actually a 1947. As you can see from the pictures, it needs to be cleaned up, but the jeep runs and the 4 wheel drive works with no problems. It has the 134 cu inch flathead 4 cylinder motor. I'm not sure if it is the original motor that came in the jeep and it looks like some work has been done to it over the years. The body and frame are in pretty good condition with minimal rust around the tail lights and on the windshield frame. The step on the driver's side also has some rust and does need to be replaced. Overall, it is a solid jeep and would be a great hunting vehicle or base for a restoration. The windshield has been removed because one side of the glass is broken and needs to be replaced. There is also a fabricated rack on the back that holds a tool box, gas can, and serves as a mount for the spare tire. I have a soft top that isn't in the best shape, but the frame is there and it will save you money in the end if you want to replace just the top itself. The seats are not the original seats, but are in descent shape and could easily be re-upholstered. Electrically, the 12V conversion has been installed. The headlights and tail lights need some attention and are not currently working. All of the interior gauges are original and work with the exception of the speedometer and odometer. It also has a new battery. I bought the jeep on a whim with hopes of restoring it, but just do not have the time to put into it that I would like. I hate to let it go, but would rather sell it to someone who will enjoy it rather than have it sit in my garage. If you have any questions, or would like more pictures or pictures from a different angle please let me know and I can get take for you. Buyer is responsible for pick-up or shipping. If previous bidders are no longer interested due to this please let me know. I am also lowering the reserve based on the updated information. Thanks.
