Ready to drive home today, no matter how far away you live. see photos ---> http://www.flickr.com/photos/56459050@N06/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/56459050@N06/page2/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/56459050@N06/page3/ I am selling this because I bought a boat and need a truck to tow it. I am the third owner of this car, and can say it is in EXCELLENT condition and has been very well cared for. A little old lady bought this car in Amarillo in 1985, then it was sold to its second owner in Dallas in 1993. I bought it from him in 2004. This car has been garage-kept almost all of its life. As far as I know it has never resided outside of Texas -- no salty roads or harsh conditions. It has the original paint, upholstery, engine. It has never been in an accident, and has never had body work. There is no rust in this car. This car is from the last model year of the famous w123 Mercedes series. This car is well known to be "bulletproof" and is truly built like a tank. You can read here (http://www.ajc.com/ajccars/content/ajccars/content/stories/2008/05/28/carmercedes_0531.html) about a car like this which went over 1,000,000 miles. Here are some details about the car: FEATURES sunroof power windows cruise control stereo with CD and mp3 player and AUX input which you can plug your iPOD into original stereo (cassette deck) and speakers included as well leather interior 4-speed automatic transmission automatic 4-door locks locking gas door fog lights THE GOOD Excellent original paint with good shine and color AC blows cold and heater blows hot. NEW climate control console put in a few years ago. AC system fully updated to r134a coolant. No need to search for expensive r12 freon. This car has style and timeless good looks If you take care of this car, it should last you a long long time Good mileage diesel engine Can run on biodiesel or can be converted to run on used vegetable oil No rust Engine starts easily every time (unless it is really cold - see below) Very good visibility out of all windows Clean comfortable upholstery Vacuum system works great -- all doors lock and engine shuts off quickly All windows work well I have all maintenance records back to 2002 or so No cracks in the dashboard (common in this type of car, but not in this one) Air blows well out of the center vents (commonly does not work in this type of car, but does in this one) Spare tire and original Mercedes tool kit included THE BAD Engine has a hard time starting if kept outside in temperatures below 20-25 degrees. If you plug in the block heater (installed and included) then it will do fine. One small tear in upholstery at edge of the right rear seat -- visible in photos Slow brake fluid leak. I top off every 6 months or so and it will be just barely low. The brakes work well. It will not tow my boat. I have had lots of experience with w123 diesel Mercedes such as this one. This is the second I have owned, and my father has owned two as well. This car is truly a rare find. Original beautiful paint is very unusual but this car has it. The interior is in excellent shape as well. Most w123 Mercedes have a few common flaws: cracks in the dashboard, no air flow out of the center vents, rust at the wheel wells, failed vacuum system. This car has none of those problems. That is a testament to how well it has been cared for. I ran a CarFax check on this car in 2004 when I bought it. The CarFax was clean. There have been no problems since then - no accidents, etc. If you desire, I can fax/email the CarFax I ran in 2004, or you can run a new one yourself. Overall, this is a great car, and I am sad to see it go.
