Vehicle Detail
This bike is ready to ride. This is a 1967 CL77 305 Honda Scrambler with 12,154 miles and has clear Oregon title. It was a one-owner bike before I bought it. The original owner is an Eastern Oregon potato farmer and 25 years ago put it on a pallet and stored it in the loft of his climate-controlled truck shop. He’d taken the tank, fenders and side covers off to have them repainted after his son painted flames on them. After three years at the paint shop, he rescued them after hearing that the paint shop was going out of business. He said that is when he lost interest and put everything into storage. I had M & M Paints, in Medford, OR, match the paint from old paint still inside one side cover, and then had everything professionally painted. I also had a friend who specialized in these bikes back in the day at the Honda shop rebuild the carbs, adjust the valves and clutch, check out all the wheel bearings, brakes, bearings in the steering neck and anything else he could think of, and he said this is in tip-top operating condition. It’s a real, stock survivor. Even the exhaust and front fender haven’t been cut. I can’t find any dents any place and the only imperfections are three or four pencil-eraser-size surface rust spots in the front rim valley. I took a Scotch-Brite pad and chrome polish to one and it came right off. I have really bad arthritis in my hands so I wasn’t able to do the others. There’s also a small scuff in the very end of the exhaust part we called the “guppy.” There’s also a scuff on each side of the front chrome fender bracket (see picture of right side one). The only think not stock are the tires. The old ones were dried and cracked and tried to keep the new ones period correct. I replaced them because I like to ride this bike. I’m going to miss it but I’ve gotten arthritis in most all my joints so I’m going to be selling most of my vintage motorcycle and go-cart collection (I have 50+). When and if the bike sells, I’ll need $500 payment through PayPal within 24 hours, and the balance within 7 days of sale. If you have five or less E-Bay transactions please contact me before bidding. Shipping is on the buyer, but I will help any way I can within reason. After payment in full, I can store in heated garage for two months at no extra charge. It’s always been stored inside anyway. I can deliver to shipper in Medford, OR, zip code 97501-area for no charge. Farther that this would need to be worked out. I was told a great way to ship bikes is through U-Ship, www.uship.com/ship. I’ve used Forward Air, but the closest terminal for me is in Portland, OR., and that is a 14- to 16-hour round trip for me. But if that’s what’s needed, I’ll still be reasonable. I have a hard time with people selling things on the other side of the country and after you bought it it’s your baby. There have been a lot of items I’ve never bid on because of this attitude. Good Luck Bidding. Thank you.
