Vehicle Detail
1973 Plymouth Scamp Completely new 318 V8 (1972 Dart Engine) 4B, Headers, flow master mufflers, mild cam, electric fan. Automatic transmission, four wheel power disc brakes. (Master Power Brakes).New 8 3/4 rear end with Yukon axles, bearings and a 355 Richmond gear. Gear is a little noisy but I knew this going in. (They all are) Springs are moved in 3/4 of an in. Hurst roll control for when you want to show off a little. Torq Thrust Ds, 14x6 on the front with 15x8 on the rear with 4 1/2 backspacing. New shocks. Car can actually run a 10 in wheel. Brakes, tires/wheels rear end all new the last year with very little drive time. All work done to the best of standards. Now for the body etc. 50% or so original paint. New in NC, owned by a gentleman who delivered newspaper till he passed. From there Mr. Tommy Johnson (Yes NASCAR Crew chief from Hendrick) bought the car. Tommy installed the engine and exhaust and drove it for a while till another Hendrick employee (Finance Mgr at a lot in Charlotte) bought it from Tommy. This owner then traded it to Golden Classics in Florida. I bought it from them and had it delivered to Tn. It has no rust. Interior is all original and looks great, still soft and clean. Am radio works. I had a small tear on the dash repaired and there is a small patch 2 in on the rear of the passenger front seat. All the lights work and also the door busser. The front left fender and left door are the worst panels that have been spotted, however I will say they are great 10 footers. NEGATIVES--- Windshield which Golden Classics installed leakes a little. I never have tried to fix it due to not driving it in bad weather. I discovered this when my wife pulled it from the garage to clean the floor and it rained a shower. Really neat little Mopar thats not going to cost you an arm and a leg. Note there are 2000 dollars worth of brakes on this car, 1500 rear end, and over a grand in tires and wheels. Feel free to call me at 865-776-1675 with any questions. I will trade this car for a 1965/66/67/ VW Bug of equal value. Harley Davidson maybe call me. I do not want to turn a screw.
