It appears this car was built at the factory with the 289/Automatic, Console, Pony Interior, AC, Complete Tinted Glass and possibly the Styled Steel Wheels, all the other options having been added through the years. I can find no evidence this car has ever been wrecked nor any panels replaced. There are small areas of the lower rear quarters on both sides that have had work done to them as those are the only places a magnet will not stick on the entire car. There are a few small spots where rust is bubbling up(see pics). Only one repaint since new, in the blue color shown. The original factory color was Arcadian Blue(light Blue) . The Bumpers are flawless as is most of the exterior Chrome and Stainless. The gas cap appears to be the original one and it shows light pitting/wear as do the two running horse emblems. All Of the Glass is Factory Tinted, each piece with the Carlite logo. All pieces are in beautiful and clear condition with the exception of the windshield which has wiper groove marks. The 289 has many original components and does not appear to have ever been removed. An Ignitor 2 is now in place of the points. Dual exhaust. The car runs fine, the transmission shifts properly. The Power Front disc/rear drum brakes work great as does the emergency brake . Brand new gas tank/sending unit. The rear gear is 2:80. The pony interior is in very nice condition. There are a few small tears on the drivers seat and a few tears in the headliner (see pics). Some wear to the drivers side upper door where your arm rests. New Dashpad. All instruments work, including the rally pac clock and tachometer. All interior lights work. The Factory AM 8 Track---a rare option---works!(many 8 track tapes come with the car). The AC is not blowing cold at present, but is in working order with all parts. The undercarriage is in WONDERFUL condition, all original--no repairs--no deep rust. The car spent nearly its entire life in South Carolina and from the look of things, probably in a garage.
