His neighbor had the truck Ziebart Rust Proofed when it was new which explains why this truck is an excellent candidate for restoration. EXTERIOR: The paint is factory and in need of a fresh paint job. There is only surface rust here and there with the exception of the passenger’s side quarter panel; it will need a patch panel welded in. The passenger side fender is pushed back some from a small fender bender as well as the bumper. The fender can be pulled out easily (see pictures below for details). The doors, cab corners, and cab are all in excellent condition. All the expensive aluminum trim is in good shape except for a rubbed place on the before mentioned passenger side fender area. I cannot see the bed floor to see its condition since it has a plastic drop-in liner but from underneath it looks like it might need some work but I cannot be for sure. The frame looks solid, it just needs all the undercoating sandblasted off and painted black. The truck will need new exterior mirrors and will need a full exhaust soon. MOTOR AND TRANS: I have $3,000 in receipts where the original 351M motor and the C6 automatic transmission were rebuilt 4,000 miles ago. The truck starts and runs great. Also, there were new brake lines and fuel lines installed as the truck sat for several years after the original owner passed away. I installed an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold and Edelbrock Performer carb to improve drivability. I am pretty sure I can find the stock 2 barrel intake in my father’s garage if the buyer wants it. DRIVETRAIN: The rear end is a Traction Loc (limited slip) 3.50 gear ratio. The front differential is a strong Dana 44. The 4X4 works great! INTERIOR: The seat is in perfect condition and the truck has Power Steering, Power Brakes, A/C (but not currently working), and cruise control (not currently working). The back glass is a sliding glass but the glass will not slide. I could nitpick this 31 year old truck all day but it is a truck that is solid and ready for a restoration. I removed that and there are some rivet holes along the leading edge of the cab. I have put silicone in these holes until a body shop could fill them before painting it back to factory colors. Actually, the interior is in better shape than the exterior in my opinion. The seat is in perfect condition and the dash is not cracked anywhere as you can see. The driver's side door panel has broken off at the bottom and will need to be replaced. The interior is blue and has woodgrain scattered throughout as the XLT option. On close inspection of the carpet, I can see where the original owner cut about a two inch hole in the cab floor as well as the carpet to run some kind of accessory I guess. I had not noticed it as the carpet covers this mostly. I am sure that can be fixed easily. If you have any other questions, please send a message.
