1961 Volkswagon Beetle, Restored, 38,341 Orig. Miles! I am selling my nicely restored 1961 VW Beetle. I am the 3rd owner of this wonderful car. I have the paperwork showing the two previous owners. The original owners kept it in the family for 41 years! The father bought it new in 1961 and passed away a few months later. It was then signed over to his son by the mother for the sum of $1.00. The son kept it mainly as a memory of his father, then finally sold it in 2002. The engine runs perfectly and has only 38,341 original documented miles. The transmission shifts like new. The paint is new orig color, as well as, seat covers, carpets, rugs, headliner, brakes, brake lines, wheel cylinders, muffler, complete tune-up kit, carb kit, etc. I have all the receipts showing everything that was done to preserve this classic. The only things that were not replaced were some small chrome pieces, like the vent window frames, blinker bezels, very low dollar items. They were purposely not replaced to show some age to this original classic. Notice a gas guage was added in dash. It was not available in '61. It can be removed but I don't recommend it. Tires have good tread but are weathered and should be replaced. Whoever purchases this car will not be disappointed. It is stored in a heated garage. I took it out for a ride yesterday, it is very cool! You are more than welcome to come and inspect it. Due to its age there is no title. Here in Maine a title is not required on older cars.
