I have purchased this car brand new directly from VW dealer in March of 2002, even though it was built in 2001. It was bought in NH then about a year later moved to FL. I am the original and only owner. It is the most universal, tough and reliable machine I have driven. It is a small hatchback but roomie inside (I am 6’2”) with sports suspension so it handles great. Car is paid off, title in hand. I have taken special care of this car, it has been my good friend for a long time. Almost all work was done by the dealer till 2 years ago I found a great mechanic that specializes in VWs. I have run only full synthetic in it after break in period and only premium fuel as suggested. Always garaged at home and at work. No mechanical problems, runs super clean and powerful. No rattles and noises, the car has driven carefully mostly on the highway.Every feature in car works except steering wheel radio buttons, because after market radio.The car is all original except much better headlights and loaded radio. This car has been babied and it is in excellent condition well worth its money. ENGINE and other: Runs like new, unbreakable VR6 motor, 2.8L, 174HP, 181ft-lb. 5 speed overdrive manual transmission. ABS, Sports suspension, Anti Slip Regulation (ASR), Electronic Differential Lock (EDL). All these prevent slipping, provide great control. Remote key-less entry and anti-theft alarm system. EXTERIOR: The paint is original (Matchstick Red Perl), great condition and actually still under 12 year manufacturer warranty. Of course some scuffs and dings but never in accident. I have included picture of everything that could be considered major paint blemish, though none of them are deep. I think the car has much higher value if still with original paint. It still is under 12 year unlimited miles corrosion warranty. Headlights are a beautiful Halos with integrated fog lamsp, see picture. Wheels are original VW 16" alloy wheels. Tires are 90% life in the front and about 25% in rear. I recently changed only the front ‘cause it was time, but the rears still have some 1000 miles life. Tires are manufacturer recommended replacements BF Goodrich and they are not expensive at all. I have installed a hitch, very convenient to tow a motorcycle or a jet-ski. Car is rated to pull up to 2000lbs!! Heated mirrors, heated washer nozzles. INTERIOR: Leather seats, with wood trim, leather steering wheel. Front seats fully adjustable and heated. Back seats fully foldable making the car look like a mini pick-up truck – very handy!! Power windows, power lock, power mirrors. Moonroof – tilt and slide. Full spare tire and all tools. RADIO: it has all features you can think of. Installed by a professional. Have all receipts and manual.
