1955 PONTIAC STAR CHIEF CUSTOM CATALINA COUPE This project car needs a complete restoration. We have owned this Texas/Oklahoma car for 27 years and have never started restoring it. For the last 19 years it has been sitting on cement at the dryer end of our carport. It appears to have it's original paint. The main body shell is very good, only having a few minor dings here and there. The only exterior area of the shell that will show rust holes (2) after it is cleaned (chemically or sandblasted) is the panel between the trunk lid and the rear bumper. The driver's floor has an area that has several tiny holes. A 10"x10" patch will easily repair that. The passenger floor has 1 tiny (1/4") hole. The rest of the floor (trunk floor too) is very solid. The front fenders will have many rust pits. If you choose to repair them, rather than replace, they will both need small patches in the bottom (2"x3" and 1"x3"). The trunk lid will have pits also and the bottom of the inner and outer panels are bad. The roof will have some pits also, but won't be as bad as the fenders. The doors both have small holes in the lower front corners where there is a swelling between the inner and outer panel seams for a few inches on each. The rest of the seams are good. The hood is nice except for a small 1"x1" rear corner spot where it was sitting in moisture. The original 287" 4 bbl. motor and hydramatic transmission (not pictured) are stored in our basement. The motor is partially apart. The only parts missing (that we can recall) are the air cleaner and the brake pedal pad. Sold as-is. All sales final. A Pay-Pal deposit of $500.00 is required within 72 hours of the end of the auction. The balance is due in cash within 10 days. The car will need to be removed within 30 days.
