Vehicle Detail

My 1971 Buick Skylark Custom Convertible is for sale. I bought the car about 16 months ago from a gentleman in Maryland. He kept it in a garage, and the owner before him (From Virginia) also kept it in a garage. I think I am the 4th owner. I’m not sure. I keep it under a very good breathable cover, and I have never driven it in the rain. It is now located in Greensboro, NC About the car: Buick 350 5.7L Engine (Not original). A new Buick 350 replacement engine was put in in 1987. OEM (for a 1971 Buick 350) 4-barrel Rochester Quadrajet carburetor (Installed June 2010) TH350 3 speed automatic transmission Power brakes, steering, convertible top AM/FM Radio The mileage reads 5,350 miles. This is not correct. Good Clear NC Title. The car ALWAYS starts right up. It drives like a dream. Straight as an arrow, and it brakes straight too. A previous owner installed a very good quality white top a few years ago. The top is in fantastic shape, and goes up and down with the push of the switch. (No problems with the top motor). The engine and transmission are very strong. The paint job is very nice, and looks great. The paint is a few years old, so within 5 feet of the car you can notice some minor imperfections or scratches. There is one minor dent in the front fender that for some reason wasn't fixed before it was repainted. The interior is very nice too. The floors and trunk are SOLID. There is one tear in the driver’s seat, about 10 inches long. The wood veneer on the dash is extremely nice. The original Buick AM/FM Radio works perfectly. The clock runs most of the time. Occasionally I will get in and it has stopped. If I turn the dial forward on the clock, it starts running again and will run for several days sometimes. The Dash pad is perfect, as is the glove compartment. The piece of vinyl that runs from the fold down arm rest in the front seat needs to be reattached (I never used it). All gauges, signal and courtesy lights work (The turn signal has to be manually canceled), even the glove compartment and trunk lights. This car had Air Conditioning, but the compressor is gone. The heater core has been bypassed (see pictures). A previous owner removed the compressor. What I’ve done to the car in the last 16 months: Replaced the carburetor with a new, correct, remanufactured spread-bore 4 barrel Rochester Quadrajet. Model 7041544 (correct for a 1971 Buick 350). Complete tune up – new Coil, Plugs, Wires, Cap and Rotor, Vacuum Advance, Points and Condenser. Timing is set so it starts, idles, and runs GREAT!! Completely restored the trunk (see pictures). Put in sheet metal where needed, original splatter paint, new original trunk mat and spare tire board, and of course weather stripping. Replaced the knock off mag wheels that were on it with real 14 inch Buick Ralley Wheels and center caps. I’ve put about 1,500 miles on the car in 16 months and changed the oil 4 times. Misc. – New weather stripping around windows, new grill and trunk badges, new valve cover gaskets. Please ask anything about the car you want. I will answer any and all questions honestly. Please see all the pictures below. Car will be sold AS IS - WHERE IS. Buyer is Responsible for any Pick UP or Shipping Costs. Will accept Cash, Cashiers Check, or Personal Check. If Payment is by Check, All Funds must fully clear the bank before the car is shipped or picked up. On Nov-17-10 at 09:50:32 PST, seller added the following information: I've added some more pictures: These show the condition of the top, The bottom of the trunk, and the spare tire and jack. Sorry for the glare on the trunk pictures. It has a Buick Ralley Wheel as a spare!
