Vehicle Detail
Solid 1966 Scout 800. Recently moved from high and dry Southern Colorado to Iowa. Vehicle does have some rust (drivers rocker and passenger floorboard) but very repairable. Mechanically excellent, would drive anywhere. 4WD with 4 speed manual transmission. Newer set of studded Cooper radial snow tires mounted on factory IH 16" rims comes with truck. Has rear seat but it needs recovered. Recent carb rebuild, new starter. Prime candidate for restoration or dependable daily driver. Gets approximately 15 mgh at 55 mph. I need a $250.00 deposit via paypal within 24 hours of auctions end. Balance due when you pick up the vehicle in Tipton, IA via cash or cashiers check. On Nov-16-10 at 07:12:49 PST, seller added the following information: I did want to note that the truck is equipped with saddle tanks and one is removed. I have the tank and some of the parts to reinstall it. I have owned the truck for over 5 years and operated it on one tank. Certainly you might want to install the other tank for extended range. Also, all of the seats could use some attention, I mentioned that the rear seat needed recovered and didn't want to give the impression that the other seats did not. This is an original, very operable vehicle. Additionally, parking brake needs adjusted, radio opening has been cut for aftermarket radio, no longer in vehicle. It hasn't been butchered, just trimmed along the bottom edge, face plate might cover. The truck is equipped with sliding windows in the doors. I usually remove the top and doors during the summer months and the doors could use some adjustment. If you have any additional questions please ask before bidding. I want there to be no misunderstandings, this is a 35 year old vehicle and although it is in excellent unmolested condition for its age, it is an old truck. It has been my daily driver for in excess of 5 years, I have driven the truck all over the country with no issues other than ordinary maintainence. As I stated in the listing, it is an excellent candidate for restoration or for use as a daily driver if you're not into comfort. Thanks for looking! On Nov-17-10 at 18:54:20 PST, seller added the following information: I've added some pictures of the rust on the driver's side rocker as well as pics of the driver's and passenger's side floor boards, the rear bed and the radio hole cutout. I hope they are relatively clear. It was a foggy morning when I took them so the lighting wasn't optimal.
