Vehicle Detail
For your consideration... Looking to add a top-flight Triumph to your collection, but want to avoid Las Vegas auction prices and buyer's commision? Then take a look at this 69 Trophy TR6-C. This bike was professionally restored about 6 years ago. I am the 2nd owner since restoration, and it has about 1200 miles put on it since it was completed. Please look over the photos carefully, they certainly provide as much info about the condition as this text. The frame was powder-coated, engine and transmission rebuilt, many new electrical system parts including wiring harness. The bike retains the battery/coil/points ignition. It starts easily and runs great! Classic and correct Trophy red fuel tank and stainless fenders. Most photos show the bike without the "chip basket" wire exhaust guard in place, mainly because I like the look of the pipes/mufflers without it, but it is included with the bike. The engine and frame numbers match. The bike has been stored in a dry, climate controlled room. As mentioned, the bike has 1200 miles on it since restoration, so it is NOT a perfect museum piece. It has a few nicks here and there...and leaks a drop or two of oil to mark it's spot...however it is nice enough to win a first place award at the 2007 British/European Day event at Butler's Orchard Md. I've ridden it once since then...which is the reason I'm putting it up for auction...I just don't ride it enough. So it's time to pass it on to the next custodian. To prepare the bike for sale, I have changed the engine, transmission, and primary oils. I have also installed a new set of Dunlop (Japan) K-70 tires...scratching the rear rim in the process! Like I said, the bike does have a nick here and there...if you look closely enough. Nothing however, that I could capture in a photo. I just want to describe the bike as best as I can. First person inspection is invited...I am located in eastern PA north of Doylestown. I have a clear PA Title in my name that will transfer to the new owner, and I will also provide a Notarized Bill of Sale. All shipping arrangements have to be made and paid for by the buyer. I will work with the buyer and the shipping company to coordinate pick-up. Also I can deliver the bike (at no charge) to the Clemmer Warehouse in Telford PA, which is an agent for Federal MC Transport (www.funtransport.com). Regarding payment, I'll need a $500 deposit via Paypal within 48 hours of auction close. The balance will need to be paid in cash if you are picking up the bike. If you're having the bike shipped, I will accept a check, a money order, or a bank Certified Check...BUT PLEASE BE CLEAR THAT ANY OF THESE WILL NEED TO CLEAR AS A DEPOSIT IN MY BANK ACCOUNT BEFORE I WILL RELEASE THE BIKE OR SIGN OVER THE TITLE. This means that for a brief period of time I'll have both your money and the bike. I have been on the puchasing end of a few of these transactions recently and those are the terms I accepted. Unfortunately, due to modern crook's ability to produce fraudulent "Certified Checks" there is no other option. In addition, if you have less then 10 positive feedback Ebay transactions, please contact me via Ebay email before bidding, or I reserve the right to cancel your bid. I have seen 2 recent auctions that were spoiled by some joker with no bidding history that entered phony winning bids "just to see what happened". Please send an Ebay email with any questions, and I'll try to answer as quickly as possible. Thanks for looking. On Nov-09-10 at 16:42:11 PST, seller added the following information: To clarify, here is the complete VIN: DC16797 TR6C. The numbers are the same on the engine and the frame. In both cases, the "TR6C" is in slightly smaller stamp size. Also to clarify...the bike is offered "as-is, where-is" with no warranty expressed or implied. In the text above, I mentioned a self-imposed scratch on the rear rim. In fact, you CAN see it on the photo of the rear wheel...at about 10 o'clock on the rim...you can see the small chip from the chrome finish. It's about 1/4 inch in size. Thanks to all for the interest and the inquiries. On Nov-13-10 at 07:33:51 PST, seller added the following information: To all potential bidders... My other auction (BSA Spitfire) was hit with an apparently bogus bid from a 0 feedback bidder in Belarus. After cancelling that bid, I have blocked all bidders from countries other then the US for both auctions. Also, I have been asked if I would end the auction early with a "but it now" offer. No...I'll let the auction run. I have also been asked for the reserve amount. It is $7k. Thanks to all for your interest.
