Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 72 CB750K. I bought it last winter as a project while I was off work with an injury. THIS IS NOT A TOTAL RESTORATION...all CB750 detectives will see that. It was never meant to be. I rebuilt the forks, cleaned up the brakes and added a stainless steel line in the front. I pulled the engine and had the bore & valves checked. The bore was perfect, and I had the valves & guides replaced as well as the rings because, well, they were there. I cleaned & rebuilt the carbs. All control cables are new. I stripped all the finish off of the forks & casings and polished them. Chain, tires and brakes are all serviceable but will need replacing in the next couple of seasons. The paint is new & the pictures don't show it off too well. It is really a pretty blue-green & the pin stripes are painted. The left hand cover reeded repair so it is not quite perfect. The frame was painted as well, and that is sawdust, not rust, in the battery box area. Most of the chrome is good, a little pitted on the underside of some parts. The rims are OK. AS you can see the left hand controls are add-ons. I have all the bits to take it back to stock but am no good at soldering. You can buy a used set for $20-30 on the Bay. New battery. All electrics work except neutral light. Mechanically, it starts right up, runs strong & shifts & stops like it should. I should have re-jetted the carbs tho as it runs a little lean and idles itself out of gas sometimes. I think they should be synced as well. I have the original airbox & a new filter if you want to go back to stock. I do not have any other pipes...these came from a swap meet. The old ones were trash. Also included is a manual, new oil filter & the original tool kit.
