It is a 2 owner car which spent its entire life in California and the second owner who bought the car in 1987 (I have the original CA Pink slip) was a mechanical engineer who lovingly took care of her every need. The body is in great shape with only minor dings and scratches and no rust at all (battery area, dog leg, rear hatch, and floors are all clean, please see all photos). The floors and unibody frame rails of this 280Z are still perfectly straight and undamaged which is extremely rare. The car has been repainted in the past and the paint is starting to show checking but it is still in great shape. The interior is all original (except updated radio and steering wheel, I have the original one) and the driver's side seat will need recovering, the original dash shows typical cracks, and the original carpet is somewhat faded but still in great shape. The car cranks up instantly whether hot or cold and drives without any vibrations or noises. The 4-Speed manual transmission shifts smoothly and the R-200 rear end makes no noises. The factory installed A/C works as it should and all electrical items work on the car except for the clock which is a common issue on these Zs. One item that will need to be addressed if this car is to be driven in a cold climate is the heater system (water lines are not currently hooked up to heater core).
