Vehicle Detail
PRICE REDUCED FOR RELIST. I have owned this car for over four years. Always garaged since I owned it, and used for local cruises and shows. I do not have a lot of history on the car, but it did have a resto done in the past. It has a very strong running 241 Red Ram hemi engine (150 hp). I believe was rebuilt by the way it runs and looks, a PowerFlite fully automatic transmission, also power steering.which makes the car handle effortlessly. The Royal was the top of the line Dodge in '54, a great riding car that loves to cruise at 55 mph (which I have done). In the past I have done the brakes (including master and wheel cylinders), tranny pan gasket, new exhaust, new battery, and replaced some of the hard to find trim pieces, such as the chrome rear quarter panel fins, the tranny badge on the trunk (although it says "TorqueFlite") and the V8 badge on the hood. The original solar glass is perfect all around and includes front and rear fly vent windows. There is no significant rust issues at all, sbut some slight bubbling in the usual spots, a small pinhole in trunk (but trunk is overall solid), and the floorboard has two small metal patches on drivers side which were there when I bought the car, but otherwise the floor is very solid the undercarriage is very clean. The interior upholstery was redone in fabric very similar to the original and is in excellent shape, the cushioning in the seats excellent. All the gaging, lights, directionals, and such works except for the odometer, clock, and the original stock AM radio. The tires are wide white BF Goodrich with plenty of tread. The car is currently registered and inspected in NY. There is a valid transferrable registration (no titles issued in NY back then). The tranny has always had to warm up first before it starts to upshift, so it does need to be driven around slowly for a short bit until it does, but once it does, it performs smoothly and perfectly. Some leaking of tranny fluid too even though I replaced the pan gasket. Based on the performance, it may be a stuck valve that frees itself when warmed up, or some other more minor issue, but I don't believe we are talking anything like a rebuild. I have just chosen to live with it since I have had it. The front carpeting is okay, not worn through, but needs a better fit, again, something I have just lived with. The rear carpeting is fine. The headliner perfect. I redid the package shelf under the rear window. Generally, this is a nice driver quality that is really TURN KEY car at a very reasonable price. Not perfect by any means, but very presentable and has even taken home a trophy or two over the years. You don't see these around, and it always draws a lot of attention. It is a great example of early '50's Mopar engineering. For anyone looking to continue upgrade it, it really wouldn't take much. I have had a good time with it, and selling to move onto a '60's project Now, please understand THE CAR IS 56 YEARS OLD and is not a museum piece. The very fair pricing should tell you that. I cant go into every small scratch and imperfection. I guess consider it a good 10 footer. If you want to inspect it, I am willing to respond to any reasonable request. It is on Long Island, NY. I have described as best that I can, what i didn't answer for you , ask questions and I'll get back to you quickly.
