I wanted the convertible, but she purchased this one. As can be seen in the pictures, there is "clear coat" missing. There is some rust on drivers side front fender. There is an exhaust leak somewhere. A local muffler repair man said it was in the manifold connection. I only washed it and put on a bit of wax. Below is partially from a good friend that checked it out for us. This car may indicate 1973 on the title, it was built in 1972, as the 15,587th car produced. The 280 SEL is 1000 mm longer wheelbase (~ 4 inches) than the SE version, all of it in the rear seat area making them a very roomy and comfortable ride for the passengers, but they share the same value. The numbers reveal a lot: * built specifically for export to the U.S. * left hand drive, auto trans, gasoline, fuel injected engine * had three sets of keys NOW only 1 key. * paint code 733 Glasurit, Phantom Grey Has been repainted. Now Burgundy. * a/c NEEDS re-charge. These were wonderful cars, meant to be driven, driven hard, and enjoyed high rpms.
