Vehicle Detail
1989 Honda Goldwing GL1500 Project Bike. This is not a salvage bike, she has clear title. She has just had alittle too much California sun tanning and needs TLC. The mileage is 49,420 origional, which as you know is low for a wing. The motor idles really nicely, is very smooth and quiet. The bike runs strong, but needs to be run as It has been sitting. Motor, transmission and clutch are strong. Everything works on the bike..the reverse, cruise control, amfm casette stereo, air supsension etc. What it needs, is a front tire right away...its dried out from the sun and cracking. The rear has great tread as well, but it will need replacing down the road. The front fork seals need changing because they are leaking from being dried out in the sun. The travelcade seat just needs a new cover, just the main seat and it needs that middle piece that you will have to find on ebay. The foam is excellent, just sundamage on the cover. As you can see in the pics, the right side pocket door is missing below the rear speaker (ebay item) Color is dark brown. You should also replace the brakepads, they are getting low. Rotors look very good and smooth! As for the paint, you will need to repaint sections of her that have faded in the hot sun. There are a couple of screw holes that will need to be filled to, where an accesory was taken off. Below I have listed the color and what you need from ColorRite. I have repainted parts on Goldwings before using ColorRite and their colors are spot on and easy to use. The front speakers need replacing, they are torched from the sun. The clear plexiglass that protects the front of the speedo, LCD Screen, instrument panel and tach needs to be changed, its slightly crazed....P.S. The LCD screen and all read outs are excellent. Let see..... the top of the brake handles are abit sunfaded too. One more thing, you will need a aftermarket decal...chrome cover...etc to cover the sun scorched stereo console as you can see in the pic. Only damage on the bike is on the front lower left metal heat shield in front of the toe shifter. Looks like it hit a curb, and it popped the far right screw holder for the front lower fairing that you pull off when you do an oil change (by your left foot). So both of those should be changed. All the tabs are good where the damage is...Check out the pics...I took a close up of it. You can buy the Candy wineberry paint at ColorRite. You can buy it in spray cans and just repaint faded sections of the bike yourself, it's pretty easy if you are handy. Tthe base coat is 1470-1, the the candy wineberry color Honda R114CU, and then the Aeresol high gloss. This bike just needs someone to breath some new life into her, by taking her home and making a good minor project out of fixing her up. Not very much money if you do it yourself. If you are handy and a do it yourselfer, than this would be a great easy project for you!! In order to ride her home...you would need front fork seals, new brake pads front and rear and a new front tire. It is rideable right now, but not to go cross country. I bought her from a older gentleman who could not ride her, because of his bad knees. I thought that someone on ebay might want to fix her up!! Call me with any questions if you like or just respond to this ad...John @ 831-212-5662 I made a change in the price which should make it pretty darn reasonable for someone to buy it and fix her up. First person to click on the buy it now for $1950.00 will get the bike. I eliminated the make an offer. Thank you, John
