Vehicle Detail

If you are on a very limited budget, but are determined to go sailing this may be the one. I got a great deal on this boat a few years ago, could not get my wife interested,so the project went nowhere. It was made by Chrysler and designed by Hallsey Herreschoff the grandson of Nathanal Herreschoff. Both were very famous and widely respected for their yacht designs. It is a big boat for towing ,weighs about 6000 pounds, with the swing keel up the draft is 2 feet 10 inches, down about 6 feet. Notice the rudder also swings up and down. The hull is very sound and smooth, notice it has not been painted except for the bottom paint. The gelcoat is still nice and would still shine with some elbow grease. There is some needed fiberglass repair needed on bow top deck, see pic.The mast and rigging appears complete and usable as is , it includes the sails which are in dry sail bags, there is atleast a main and gib in usable condition. The interior has a nice headliner,Vee birth, head, setee, alcohol stove, sink, needs cushions recovered and new floor covering. The motor is also a Chrysler,10 HP sailmaster, with good compression and electric start. It is stored in a dry building. I removed, dissembled the carb cleaned it and put it back together, never put gas in it, should be good to go.There is a big plastic gas tank mounted inside the boat, atleast 20 gals. The tiller needs replaced the wood is deteriorated. There are new lights on the trailer and the tires have lots of tread , not cracked much.Do not have a spare . If you are going to tow a long distance, the bearings need serviced, I do not want to do it. If you want to pay for it I will get it done. Bad bearings on the innerstate is a miserable experience. The boat has alot of potential, there is alot good about it. Do not bid if you are not going to follow thru. If you win you buy it at the winning price, its non negotiable. I will do what I tell you, you do the same ,no B.S. Ask questions. Good luck, have fun , alot of boat for the money. Hear that ? It's the Bahamas calling your name! Revised Nov. 1st. There have been some comments about the damage on the bow; I did not do it, dont know how it happened. It is a small area where the bow light was, It will take a new bow light ,$20 dollars worth of material and a few hours of skilled labor. If you are interested in this boat I am going to assume you have a few thousand of fun money, a place to work on it, a 3/4 ton or better tow vehicle and the tools and skill to repair and improve the boat. The right person, can buy it ,fix it, enjoy sailing it, then sell it for a profit when they are tired of it. Is that you?
