Vehicle Detail
this is a nice frame of restoration of a 1977 scout.. i started this project about 5 years ago because i wanted an off-road camping trialriding truck and ive always loved the look of the scout..problem is it came out much nicer than i intended it to.. the body was removed, frame media blasted and painted.. any rusty sheet metal was replace{including just about the whole floor}..the engine which did run when i purchased the truck was sent to burkharts in ny for a complete rebuild..the body was stripped and repainted.. new evrything underneath...starter..altenater.exhast,brakes,,springs.bushings,,body mounts,,.i bought the truck because the interior was original and complete and in terrific shape..when i finnaly got it back together it was much to nice to drive anywhere near branches/brush.. i did take it camping a few times..i took a trip to the outer banks shortly after she was on the road and it ran great..alot of compliements up and down the east coast..enough rambling.. the point is i dont drive it much anymore.. i dont drive it in the rain, snow or foul weather,,ive only put about 4000 miles on the rebuild, 200 of which were in this last year(mostly car shows) and i guess its time to move on...this is a great truck mostly original.. top..mirrors..marine carpet on floor and rims are the only thing that didnt come with this truck..there are a few things yet to be done..door locks..speedometer cable(i did put one in..but backwards..they unravel in about ten miles...fyi) and fuel sending unit still need to go in.. but havent gotten around to it and never needed them for the little driving i do with it...i posted a pic online when i first put the truck on the road and have gotten many emails complimenting the look of the truck.. a nice fellow from texas emailed me w interest in buying it which is what put the bug up my butt to sell..i do have it listed locally and have had a few offers but i thought id give ebay a chance.ive included pictures of paint chips that happened when we were putting the doors back on but decided not to fix them in hopes that i would start to scratch her up...but to no avail..just didnt have the heart..the truck has a 1 1/2 inch lift and 16" wheels..also the roll bar is not permanately set in place.. its out of a chevy truck that ive started to make fit but havent decide wether i like it or not....ive been watching scouts on ebay these last couple years and have seen very few scouts in this condition ...im selling with no reserve but may end auction early if local sale or right offer...there are some scratches in the bed from firewood mostly (down to primer )and a few chips near grill(pic)..paint bubble (pic)where i touched it with greasy finger before it got painted..a few stains on the carpet(maily in bed of truck)... also have original emblems..miror..rims.[unrestored]..line setting ticket ..owners manual and probably some additional mis.paperwork..i do have a buy it now price in mind but want to keep it quiet.. you can email me offers if you please.. this is my first item for sale on ebay and would like to make it as smooth and honest a transaction as possible for both parties..in addition i want to represent the truck as accuratly as i can...call or text 3157942839..steve... if you have any additonal photo requests i can email them to you...PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU DONT INTEND TO PURCHASE..ps..the first few pics are a few months after restoration four years ago..the rest are from a few days ago been sitting in garage for 3 months(uncovered)..i rinsed the dirt off but didnt wash it..or the top.. it does clean up and shine much better than this...looks almost as good as the day i put it on the road...On Oct-27-10 at 05:31:20 PDT, seller added the following information:im getting a few emails asking about a hardtop.. i do have the original hardtop in un restored condition.. its in decent shape.. the lift gate has cancer and might just as easily be replaced..i never intednd on using it so its just been sitting outside.. yer welcome to it..email for pics if you wish..also i would love to drive this this truck one last time so i would be willing to deliver it up to 200miles..maybe further if you fly me home.thanks again for looking...also my iphone pics do not do this truck justice but my camera is not working so its the best i could get...steveOn Oct-31-10 at 16:18:59 PDT, seller added the following information:hey all... thanks for the interest in this scout..i have spoken w a few people and have had some good offers but nothing that would make me end auction..they were within a few hundred of each other..sooo.. this scout will be sold to the highest bidder!!!...bid to win!! someone is going to get a very nice scout!!!! i will be available for any last minute questions tomrw between 9-4 est. and will be home about an hour after auction end..good luck!!!!... steve
