1981 Honda C70 Passport Only 649 mi Unrestored Original This is one of many motorcycles in my collection that I will be selling over the next few weeks. After 29 years as a franchised dealer, I sold my business 3 years ago, and subsequently a divorce and other factors compel me to sell most of my collection now. I have a number of bikes that I will be selling, so watch my eBay store for more listings in the next week or two. For more information, see the bottom of this listing. This one is my exceptional 1981 Honda C70 Passport. Virtually a new bike, it has only 649 actual miles and has been stored in a dark, dry West Texas warehouse since the mid-1980’s. It has only the slightest blemishes, consistent with its 649 adult-owned, carefully ridden miles. I bought it from my former landlord in 1997, and he was about 72 years old at that time. He is the original owner and bought the bike brand-new in 1981. This bike has NOT been restored, and doesn't need restoring. Everything is original, correct, and works properly. All I had to do to get it ready to sell was give it a sponge bath with some sudsy water, clean the carb, and install a new battery. Starts instantly with the electric starter, or look hard at the kickstarter and it is running. (just kidding - what I'm saying is it doesn't take any effort to kickstart it either.) In other words, it starts easily, purrs like a kitten, and runs perfect. I have found that once in a while the electric starter button doesn't work, but when this happens, if you move the ignition key slightly, it will go ahead and work just fine. All the lights work, the horn works, and the original tires are in great shape and hold air just fine. Again, the only blemishes are those consistent with its 649 adult-owned, carefully ridden miles, meaning it is almost new, but not absolutely perfect. Here are the minor blemishes I have seen: The rear luggage rack has a rub mark across the top where a wire basket used to be mounted, but that's the worst blemish on the bike, and it's not all that noticeable. There is a brown spot on the right battery cover near the kickstarter, and there is a scratch on the forward part of the left handlebar cover. The white plastic has a minor stain here and there, and there are a few light scuffs from feet in the step-through area and top of the right engine cover. (see photos) All the chrome is exceptional - all the places where you would find rust or corrosion on most bikes of this age are in great shape on this one - the muffler, rims, kickstarter, shifter, brake levers, luggage racks, and other chrome are in exceptional condition for a bike of this age. The seat upholstery is original, immaculate, and still pliable. Most amazingly, the rear shock absorbers still have the protective clear plastic over them that was meant to be pulled off when the bike was new. Wow. I have the white wire basket that mounts on the front luggage rack if you want it. One in this condition is a rare find indeed! Offered with NO RESERVE. However, it is for sale locally, on eBay, and also on Craigslist, so I reserve the right to sell it to the first buyer in any of those venues. In the event it sells outside of eBay, I will cancel all active bids and end the listing. Buy It Now price was $1,499 BUT IS NOW REDUCED TO $1,299! If you want to Buy It Now but Buy It Now is no longer showing in this listing, contact me and we will arrange a deposit through PayPal, and I will end the auction early and cancel all bids if you want to Buy It Now. These have all been sitting in a dry West Texas warehouse all these years, but now a divorce and other factors compel me to sell most of my collection. Most of these bikes are excellent examples of stock or near-stock machines in unrestored but good condition. They have all been stored for years, and I don't have time to go through each one and restore them all to new condition, so I will basically sell them just like they are. Most will need only small amounts of attention to have a really fine motorcycle. I will be listing approximately 2-3 bikes a week, and all I have time to do is the most rudimentary clean-up and make-ready. If I can get a bike running with minimal effort, I have done so, but I don't have time to clean carbs, troubleshoot electrical, fix every small oil drip, or detail-clean and visually/mechanically restore all of them to perfect condition. So, if a bike starts easily without a lot of effort, I will get it running, clean the dust off, and put it here for sale. If it isn't a simple/easy few-minutes job to get one running, I will list it as not running. These bikes were all running when they were originally stored, so even those that don't run should be easily made to run, but some will need carbs cleaned, batteries, spark plugs, etc. I will also list other known defects, but these are sold as-is, and I cannot guarantee that there aren't things I don't know about. Again, most will need only small amounts of attention to have a really fine motorcycle. Some will need virtually nothing. Here is a partial list of the bikes I will be listing over the next few weeks: 197?
