Vehicle Detail
This right hand drive car was imported from the UK in January 2010. We brought it back with us from England with the intent of showing and driving it for many years. Unfortunately, while we had it parked at the base auto hobby shop a Lincoln Aviator backed out of the bay into it, pushing it into a fence pole. The damage was enough that the insurance company totaled it. We bought it back knowing that it would be a cheap fix, but we just haven't gotten around to doing it. The car will run and drive onto a trailer for shipment. The car was purchased by the original owner in England in 1972. This owner stored it in a garage from 1982 until 2009, when we bought it. We tuned it, rebuilt the carburetor, replaced the exhaust (the photo of the undercarriage was taken before the new exhaust) and gave it a brake job. The car ran perfect, was fun to drive, very reliable, and got 50 miles to the gallon! The car has minimal rust... it is very solid. The undercarriage is in used condition (reference photos). We have also included photos of the car while in England and in the US, before the accident. The repairs needed include: panels. The subframes are not damaged (reference photos). The radiator has pinhole in the top. Included in this auction is a flip front end and a brace kit, as pictured. I don't have the hinge kit as I had intended on making my own. The fiberglass front end came from England as is "Finish Quality" not "Race Quality" (meaning you can just paint it and it will look like the original). The wheels that will be on it are the original British Leyland steel one piece hubcap that originally came on the car (reference pre-wreck photos) with brand new 10" tires. *The car will not include the roof rack. This is not a re-vinned Mini. An example of a re-VIN advertisement for a Mini for sale would read: 1992/1975 meaning it is a 1992 Mini with a 1975 title and VIN plate. This is an authentic classic, shown by the Heritage Society letter we obtained while in England. The photo of the letter includes the tax disc showing NIL road taxes. The car currently holds a clear North Carolina title that is in my name. call Shawn at (219) 785-8432. You are welcome to come look at the car anytime. Buyer is responsible for shipping. We do have some references for car shipping to assist. As a reference for shipping costs, I got a quote to ship it to San Diego for $1100.00. The car is 10 foot long, and about 4 and a half feet wide, and 1300 pounds (so you can check on shipping prior to bidding). Willing to ship worldwide... it made it through customs into the US with no problems.
