Vehicle Detail
This is a non-running 1967 Austin Healey Convertible. I bought it as a project but I will unfortunately not have the time to get it where it should be. For the right person this will be a great car. When I purchased it, I was told it only needed a fuel pump and a clutch slave cylinder to run again. I haven't been able to install those but I have the parts for it. Included will be a new Facet-Purolator solid state electronic fuel pump and a new clutch slave cylinder, pushrod, and mounting hardware. It's also missing the heater blower, but the rest of the heater system is present. It is a 1967 MkIV Sprite, but it has a 948cc engine. The photo shows the engine code on the plate on the engine. The VIN plate is not present. It has rust, the passenger side floor pan will need replacing and the trunk floor will also need a little bit of patch work. The hood is in poor shape, although it will seat just fine. The convertible top will need to be replaced, but the hardware is all there. I have removed the top as of right now but all the hardware is in the car. I stripped out a lot of the carpet, it was in extremely bad shape. The car is significantly cleaner than it was when I got it, but it still has a ways to go. It would make a great little vintage racer or autocross car. I was planning on leaving it as a roadster and building it like a vintage racer. It would also make, at this price, a great LeMons car or chumpcar. It is a blank slate. Like any British car, this one has some quirks it has gathered over the years:The tach is not original, it is a Veglia, which I think comes from a motorcycle. There are two steel strips welded onto either side of the front of the frame under the car. Someone installed hood pins at some point. The wiring isn't pretty. However, the car itself is fundamentally solid and should make a fine driver or whatever you have in mind. I'm not asking much, not even asking to get back what I paid for it. Being in the service and a baby mean that I don't have time to do this car right, so it will move on down the line. I have the title signed over to me.
