Vehicle Detail

Here is a white 1977 MG Midget. I bought this car in March with the hopes of completely restoring it and having a fun toy. I have recently taken a new job with a pay cut and need a 4x4. I will list all the issues that I am aware of. This little car has no through the body rust, just some surface spots that have been touched up. I really hate to give this car up but I have taken a new job with a big pay cut. As you can see in the pictures the top could be replaced. I do not drive it in the rain so it was not a priority. The car comes with a top boot cover and a tonneau cover. The tonneau cover is off a 72 midget, has a spot in the main zipper towards the rear which could be replaced or used as is. The seams have been re-run but not professionally. The top boot cover has a tear on the passenger side button, but otherwise in good shape for its age. The pictures should show the condition of the body. It is in great shape. The hood is a slightly different color. I am not sure if it was replaced or just repainted. The floor pans are solid with out rust. There is a spare for the car but no jack tools. The tire on the spare should be replaced. The seal on the trunk also needs replacing. The interior is in decent shape for its age. There are two spots on the dash and the drivers seat needs a new cushion and the back could use reupholstering. The carpet also worn. The engine on the little car is strong and runs good. It has an electric fuel pump. The original fuel pump is present but has never been hooked up while I have owned the vehicle. The engine has a new water pump, clutch fan and fan blades. It also has an electric fan that is wired to come on when the car is on (its not hooked to a thermostat). I left the electric fan on for extra cooling for the heat this past summer. I ran the car in 100 degree weather without any overheating issues. The timing cover oil seal does weep a little oil and the rear pinion seal drips also. I just never got around to replacing them. The brakes may need attention, I am not sure if they need new pads or just bled. I drive the car as much as possible so the mileage may be slightly higher than listed above. The car shifts smoothly and runs great. The right front wheel bearings may need to be repacked or replaced. I have tried to list everything about this car that I can think of and will list more if I think of it. The paint is in good shape but is not show car quality. Sorry I am not interested in trades. any questions contact me through e-bay or call my cell 828-280-7849 and leave a message (no calls after 9pm eastern time please) On Oct-08-10 at 11:52:46 PDT, seller added the following information: I guess I should have added that this is the 1500 (1492cc) engine with the single stromberg carb. The lights and housing check out good.
