AMAZING GO TO THIS LINK FOR VIDEOS AND PICTURES OF RESTORATION !!!!!!! http://cruisersolutions.com/index.php?main_page=document_general_info&cPath=38&products_id=258 As quoted by Cruiser Solutions “Restoration 1988 FJ62” · January 23, 2007- This Land Cruiser was purchased from Cruiser Solutions with the intent to restore. The scope of the work to be done is full paint/fabrication/body work, an Old Man Emu Full Suspension Kit, Custom Interior, and a nice stereo. The color request by the customer was a little difficult to track down, but with a little effort we did finally get it. The color is champagne, so it may look silver, but it does have a slight tint of tan to it. It looks very nice at this stage. After sandblasting took place we found that a "new" RH rear 1/4 panel was needed. So, we took one off of another FJ62 that was in very good condition and applied it to this body. · February 2, 2007- The Old Man Emu suspension is now installed on this FJ62. We have also re-built the front axle; bearings, seals, gaskets, rotors, calipers, and stainless steel brake lines. Much needed items. Many of the engines pullies and belts have been restored and replaced. The rocker arm shaft, push rods, and valve cover have been hot tanked and reinstalled. This will help to have the engine running smooth. · February 19, 2007- Watch this week as this Cruiser is painted in full color. Most all the prep work of sanding has been completed and the body will be shot in basecoat/clear coat PPG in the next day or so. · February 21, 2007- We have paint color! The dull looking paint color is the base-coat before the clear-coat is applied. Three coats of base color and three coats of clear are applied. The paint being used in the restoration is PPG DBC. Before the paint color was applied the Cruiser sat in the booth waiting for the final wipe down. · February 27, 2007- The painting is complete! Now we are going to undertake a little bit of wet sanding to give the paint finish a spectacular shine. The complete Cruiser will be hand sanded and buffed. Yeah, it will look GREAT! Next will come the assembly of the outside trim pieces and then the interior. We are really try to get this done quickly. · April 9, 2007- VIDEO UPDATE- We now are moving towards completing the interior. Watch the most recent video update to see the custom leather seat upholstery installed on the stock factory seats. The leather is great and installed fairly easily. · October 12, 2007- VIDEO UPDATE- The restoration is complete! Our customer picked up his newly restored Cruiser today and drove it home. He was all smiles as he drove the Cruiser away. Thanks for the opportunity to restore this Cruiser Jay!! THERE IS ONLY UPSIDE TO A VEHICLE LIKE THIS – will perform better than most bonds : ) Some things that bother me.. The rear wiper hasn’t been hooked up. Tiny tear in the ceiling liner in a location you generally don’t seeThe underside is not bone dry but a new pan gasket is going in this week.
