Vehicle Detail

1967 Ford Fairlane 289 V8 2-Barrel 71,095 original miles on the odometer eBay removed the listing because I had the word "NOT" as in "Not a 500, GT or GTA" in the subject header. Apparently it's a violation because it tricks the searching abilities in ebay into thinking it could be. I initially received an email regarding this the day I listed the item, but Ebay would not allow me to make the change. Thinking everything was fine I left the listing go until 2:00 CST today (10-4-2010) Ebay removed it because of the "violation". Sorry about the confusion, here it is CORRECTED and relisted. It's not a 500 or a GT, or a GTA, but it’s a great base to build a clone. NOTE: I reserve the right to end this auction at any time as it is being offered through other venues. [SEE ACTUAL PHOTOS OF THE ITEM UP FOR AUCTION BELOW - 67 Photos] Manual Steering, Manual Windows, Manual Brakes, Single Exhaust, Bench Seat, AM Radio, Clock Delete, 4 wheel drum brakes, standard FORD hubcaps. Clear Wisconsin Title. Exterior Condition of Car: The odometer is correct at 71,095 miles. The photos speak for the condition of the car. It's straight, has less than average amount of dings (maybe 5 total) that are not noticeable. The bumpers shine like new, the paint glistens like new. The hood, doors, panels are STRAIGHT, no filler, no bondo - pure factory finish, and a nice one I might add. The hinges, doors, locks and window regulators work as they should. The moldings are intact and near perfect, no blemishes. The taillights are in great shape and everything functions. The windshield has a serious crack in it and would likely need to be replaced. The chrome around the windshield and exterior rearview mirror shine like new. The side glass are in superb shape, and the back glass is in very good shape - it has some lines in it that are hard to see and describe. The lines look like they've been worn into the glass about 3" long, but are hard to detect. The Engine: Standard 289 2 barrel V-8 that turns over and purrs like a kitten. Plenty of power for the car, surprisingly the car does not smoke or burn oil! It received a fresh oil & filter change, carburetor has been rebuilt, and it sports a new fuel pump. It runs strong and has a light throaty sound to the exhaust. Note: The exhaust pipe rotted off at the muffler and will need to be replaced. The Brakes: The brakes need work. Only the rear function properly. The Electrical: Everything appears to work just fine. Starts right up, the starter looks like it was replace just before storage. The lights work, with the exception of 3 of the headlight, which will be replaced. Heater, blower motor, defroster works well. Lights work, one needs replacing. The Interior: The interior is all original, including the worn out driver's seat. The floor is a factory rubber floor instead of the optional carpeting. The Underside: Rock solid, no rot, or rotten components or metal. Some surface rust, but the entire underside is solid. The Trunk: If you're looking for storage, this is it! The trunk should have its own Zip Code, it's huge. Still has the factory rubber lining/mat, and under it the cardboard (yes cardboard) fillers are still in place and rock solid. The BAD: There are only 3 spots to repair on the sheet metal. The lower quarters. The driver side quarter panel has a hole rotted in it, and the passenger side has surface rust forming. Luckily both areas are on a straight area which will make the bodywork easy, even for an amateur. The third place is long the top of the driver side fender, there is some bubbling happening. This too is an easy fix. There is also some bubbling along the rear wheel lips, but not serious. The headlight dimmer switch needs to be replaced ($15.00 part). The windshield will need replacing. Easy! The driver's seat is worn. It will require some upholstery work or at the very least a cover. The Brakes are going to be repaired to working condition, the mechanicals are fine, just needs fluid added and bled. The front bleeder screws are being stubborn at the time of this writing, but the rear brakes have been bled and work well. The gas tank has been drained and is working fine. No other known issues. Needs new tires. Consider these to be "rollers", I've driven on them but only at 30 miles per hour maximum. Would only advise using them to get on and off a trailer. The dash does have a crack running through it in the center from the windshield to the dash. Extras: Comes with original owners manual, Ford Safety Poster from the dealership and the original Protect-O-Plate warranty cards from the original owner. Email me with questions before you bid. I’ll be glad to answer them.. Don't ask for the reserve amount or if I'll sell parts off from it or trade for something. Bid to win it! Good Luck. Reserve is reduced to nearly the maximum amount it was bid to before ebay removed it. Payment: • Must be paid in full before shipping (PayPal Preferred) • CASH if you pick them up in person. Shipping: • Pickup is available - no problem, just need to arrange a MUTUALLY agreeable time.
