You are bidding on a very nice 2002 Volkswagen Beetle, Turbo, with the 1.8L turbo-charged, gasoline engine and automatic transmission that I am listing for a friend. It looks and runs great, having been well maintained (service records available) with less than 92,000 miles on it. The Beetle is an original California car, so it’s very clean and rust-free. My friend is the second owner. This is a no reserve auction. The opening bid on this Beetle is only $200 over the Kelly Blue Book trade-in value. Retail is over $8,000! There are some minor rock chips and scratches. But the only one that is very noticeable is an 8”-long scrape on the lower, right-front edge of the bumper. (See photo.) The alloy wheels are in great shape. Interior: Except for some wear on the driver’s bolster (see photo) the seats, carpet, headliner, and door panels are in very nice shape, with no rips, tears or holes. Everything works as it should. The current owner is a non-smoker, and the car does not appear to have ever been smoked in. Mechanical: All maintenance is up-to-date, with the 90K service having just been completed. The tires are almost new, with at least 95% tread. The engine starts immediately and runs strong and smooth. The transmission shifts positively and smoothly with no slipping.
