Vehicle Detail
1965 Triumph TR4 for parts or to restore. One of the last few hundred TR4's made in 1965 before production was switched over to the TR4A. This car came from a junkyard several years ago, when I bought it and pulled a few parts I needed. There are still a lot of good parts on the car and it might even be solid enough to restore, so I thought I'd put it up for auction. The floors and rockers are pretty bad on both sides, which is pretty typical. The fenders are in pretty good shape, they are all rusted at the lower ends, but the rear fenders appear to be solid along their top edges all the way down. The seams between the rear deck and the fenders have been filled with bondo, but from underneath, its visible that only the rear deck is rusted through - the fenders are OK. The B pillars and the flanges that mount the fenders are also in surprisingly good shape. Lots of trim and fittings, including door handles, dash and dash support, hub caps, grille, hood, headlights, tail lights, fuel filler cap, trunk hinge, seats, steering wheel, rearview mirrors, horn, etc. The convertible top frame is included but is frozen in position and has one mounting plate broken. There is no engine or transmission in the car, and the rear axle was seized, so the differential was dismantled to allow the car to roll. The car does include 4 tires (no spare) that hold air well enough for the car to roll around. The front brake calipers have also been removed. The frame appears pretty solid, although there is some wreck damage on the right front wheel, where the pin for the lower A-arm has been pulled loose from the frame (see photos.) The car DOES have a clear title and the VIN plate is faded but has the VIN# clearly stamped into it, so the car might make a good foundation for a restoration project. Let me know if you have any questions, I will answer as best I can. Happy bidding!
