1966 Chevrolet Pick up truck has IN DASH AIR CONDITIONING. I am told by an ebayer that this is a dealer install R12 Frigidair air conditioning unit. I thought it was OEM .... who knew? All the controls and well as everything electrical in the truck is in working order. It is a 2 owner truck from Texas and has lived the last 30 years here in New Mexico. Truck has the original straight six 292 mated to its original 4 speed on the floor sycromesh transmission with Granny gear for tree climbing. Geared low this truck is town friendly and I have been using it as a daily driver for the last month. Truck has the 16.5 inch Bias Ply's with the 8 bolt rims with widowmaker rings. The truck is very solid and straight. It has rust in the lower dog-legs of the fenders and a small spot on the driver door (dime size), the bed has a dent in the tail light area on the passenger side. The glass in the cab is good except for the windshield and they are about $200. The truck was last registered in 1979 in Texas and comes with the original texas clear title. The seat has been recovered and all the springs and lapping and padding replaced and they did a real good job, as the seat is very comfortable. The bed sides are straight, the doors are solid and the bottoms are rust free. The cab is completely rust free and the dash looks very clean. The AC just barely starts to cool, so needs a charge. The radio works fine but the mounted speaker is shot, but it comes with a replacement Jensen speaker. Bed has been replaced with 1/4" plate steel. The drop in no bolt rear bed and glass guard and the front brush guard are also dealer installed items and really add to the true characture of this pick up. The truck will come with the first owners 1975 and 1976 clip on calendars still attached to the sun visors. You will not find a better donor for your c10 or c 20 project.On Oct-02-10 at 09:40:19 PDT, seller added the following information: Hi folks, I am getting a lot email telling me that the AC on this truck is indeed a factory install as I had first stated in the auctions description, but an ebayer had me change. Sorry for doubting myself. I read that there were only 200 trucks produced with this factory OEM air conditioning installed in them and I am willing to bet that most of them were either destroyed by wreck or gutted by scrapyard or custom builders.
