Vehicle Detail
1 of the 3785 produced LHD Series 2 coupes. I of 1600 survivors? You know what you want...... a rare and stunning XKe coupe with low miles, always adult owned, everything working including the clock, powerful, runs cool, and blows cold AC. You could get an Aston Martin or a Ferrari, but an exceptional E-type would do just fine! It could easily cost $85000 to buy and build a car like this. JCNA Concours Score: http://jcna.com/scores/results.php?standyear=2010&showdetails=889 class S03 2nd place 9.988 score! JCNA Slalom Score: http://jcna.com/scores/results.php?standyear=2010&showdetails=892 one of the top 10 fastest/ non-racecar, slalom E-types in the nation! Slalom Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJowoFqEBe8 I will end the ad early as the Jag is For Sale. I call my Jag the "TOMATTO". Take this car to any car show, and it makes the other red cars look brownish. It is almost like a chrome red. This Jaguar has always been adult owned, and it shows. The previous owner, Dallas, was a manager of a Harley Davidson shop in Colorado Springs, and his motorcycle styled build quality is exceptional. I recognized and purchased the Jag becuse of his exceptional work on this exceptional car, and I used my 42 years of Jaguar experience to take it to the next level. Besides the fact that the XKE has been voted over and over again as the most beautiful car ever made by every car magazine on the planet. Some, like myself, think the coupe roofline is the cat's meow over the roadster! Also the roadster trunk is only big enough for a briefcase. Then you add the fact that the series 2 E-type is a superior car to the series 1 cars with the larger grille opening and dual electric radiator fans, as opposed to the small mouth series one with the one blade plane prop fan to keep it overheating. The better cooling properties of the S2 allow the use of AIR CONDITIONING....but the factory air is only puppy breath. I have added modern AC made by RetroAir, and IT BLOWS COLD! I was in stop and go traffic in Dallas in 102 degree weather a few weeks ago, and the car ran cool, and blew cold AC! It was almost surreal for a man that has been driving classic Jaguars for almost 40 years. Series 2's also have far superior brakes. Some prospective E-type owners think the triple carbs of a series 1 is the way to go. I removed the emission carbs from this car and added two HD8 SU carbs giving the Jag , according to Jaguar 420 factory manuals, 5 more foot pounds of torque than the series one w triple carbs, and 5 less hp. As you all should know, torque wins races and hp sells cars. This jag is quick and a trill to drive. Two carbs are easier to tune and maintain. This must be about a 25 hp upgrade! Finally, it can breathe..... The upgrades are as follows: Jag-Eyes headlight covers ( I manufacture them). Tell me whether you want my custom lights or the originals reinstalled. The Jag-eyes headlight kit is designed to return the car to original easily! The original parts can come w the Jag as well. modern AC blows 38 degrees, bigger 2" SU HD8 carbs, spin-on oil filter,, modern gear reduction starter, electronic ignition, modern aluminum radiator, K&N air filter, 5 new Michelin tires, 4 tip exhaust that has an almost v-12 rumble, early spinner knock-offs, tinted windows, series 1 cat-eye taillights, beautiful paint with few flaws, leather seats, and a new spare tire and jack bag. I was told and believe the engine was rebuilt, and it is free of anything close to weird mechanical noises or leaks. The oil pressure is perfect! The previous owner did not give me any service history, but the condition of the car speaks for itself! THIS E IS AS CLOSE TO A MODERNIZED, DAILY DRIVER AS YOU WILL FIND....and it was just totally serviced, It always starts right up for me and drives beautifully..this must be what a new one drove like! The chrome on the car is beautiful. The shut lines are perfect, and it even has a rare option of the rear window defogger. One key opens/locks both doors and also operates the ignition. I would drive this car anywhere. The belts and hoses are all nearly new, and I recently super serviced the car. Owning this Jag has been a once in a lifetime opportunity for me, and it can also be for you. I just don't need to own three of them........and I'm building a beast for my last Jag, a 1968 coupe w a 6 liter v12! So many cars, so little time....own what you really want! See my Jag-Eyes for sale at item# 180559485741 Yes, It is a matching #'s car with the original engine # stamped on the the engine and VIN plate! I ran a compression test on a warm motor, it was 148 to 155 on all cylinders. The Jag also has nearly new shocks and stainless braided brake lines. It's also hard to find one that the heater controls are not frozen, or the choke light won't go out. This car does it right! The Jag drives smoothly on the freeway with no vibrations. The steering wheel is straight. No pops, knocks or chunches. This must be how a new one drove........ Check my feedback! Richard Wright 46 years of Jaguars 214-718-0607 This car would be a perfect stable mate for an Austin Healey, Corvette, Vette, Maserati, Detomaso Pantera, MG, TRiumph, Italia, Bentley, Rolls Royce, Jensen, Lotus, Marcos, TVR, Datsun, Facel Vega, Citreon SM I installed a new 40000 volt coil yesterday to match the Pertronix electronic ignition. It has never run better! There is an oil weepage at the timing cover seal. It is common on these cars, but this is a minmal weepage. The rest of the motor is DRY! Wow! over 200 hits a day and 3 sets of Jag-eyes sold! Thank You fellow Anglofiles! Richard
