Vehicle Detail
I have owned this Bronco for nearly three years (it is my 2nd Bronco). I've built it into a reliable fair weather cruiser however I've decided to build a fiberglass Bronco that I can drive throughout the year. Most of the upgrades have less than 1,000 miles on them since I spent more time building the truck than driving it. It handles very well and will cruise at 65mph with no issues - I put a lot of thought into the truck and it really came out great. The truck is always garaged and is only driven on nice days. Engine/Exhaust 351W V8 5.8 Liter engine. The PO had some valve work done prior to my purchase - I have his receipts. He also claimed that the engine was good for 300hp. I can't confirm but it does feel a lot faster than my previous 302. 2bbl Motorcraft 2100 Carb with a new fuel filter Aluminum 3 core radiator (new this Spring) w/steel fan shroud, custom air dam and new radiator overflow bottle. Blackjack long tube headers w/custom 2 into 1 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust. The passenger side header is wrapped to protect the starter. (Headers are older but exhaust has less than 1,000 miles on it). I used a large pickup truck muffler to get the sound level I desired. If you're looking for something louder I also have a magnaflow muffler that can be thrown in or a set of side exit cherry bomb pipes that will render the stereo useless. 3G Alternator (New) with new belt and new battery cables. Battery is 1 yr old. New cap/rotor/plugs/wires. New high torque mini starter Transmission/Transfer Case C4 Automatic transmission Dana 20 transfer case Suspension 2.5” suspension lift and 1” body lift Deaver Linear rate 2.5” coils (New) Rancho rear springs All four shocks are Bilstein's 5100 series (New) Front Sway Bar from Addco (New) Tires/Wheels 20x8.5 MB Razor wheels with nearly new 275/60/20 Cooper Discoverer tires Interior The previous owner replaced the floor with 1/8" steel plate. The rear bed section and footwells were replaced also and the steel continues up the sides of the bed and blends into the bed rails. The bed rails were then drilled and tapped to allow the soft top rails to be bolted down (very nicely done). The entire floor has been covered in Herculiner. APC racing seats in front with a Jeep fold and tumble in rear which is built on a wooden, lockable storage compartment. 3 pt seat belts in the front. No seatbelts in the rear. Lockable center console with cupholders Nice CD Player (Jensen) - has an aux cable for your iPod. 4 Speakers - two in the door panels and two 6x9s integrated into the rear seat. One 10" powered Infiniti Basslink subwoofer with adjustable gain - really fills in the sound and sounds great without being too boomy. Custom one of a kind Bronco steering wheel Custom family roll cage built by a local offroad shop - truly one of a kind. The glove box door does open too. Windshield support rods from cage to windshield frame Heater has been upgraded to the larger blower motor and has a new core. Stainless steel ashtray cover with the Bronco logo cut inside (looks awesome!) Rearview mirror with map lights Speedometer has been refurbished and reset to 00000 miles (now reads just over 1,030) - Exact miles are unknown and I will continue to drive it until it is sold. Exterior Paint is similar in color to Grabber Blue. Two Black Vinyl stripes on the rear corners (just like the Matchbox car!) Front bumper is a cut-down version of the original painted in a silver color. Also have a Prerunner front bumper that can be included for $300. Rear bumper is a custom roll pan that I built and installed. Fender flares are in good condition (semi gloss black plastic). Steel hood w/hydraulic hood lifts New Rampage soft top w/ tinted rear windows. Its a tight fit - the cage is just a little too big (a hard top wont fit) but a soft top will fit, just takes a bit of persuasion. I've got a new safari top for it as well. Billet gas cap Shaved doors and locks - doors open via a solenoid and are operated with a remote - no need for door locks Two pairs of window frames - one full set and one set that are cut down for the summer. Cheerokee wiper blade upgrade - supposedly a nice upgrade but I never take it out in the rain. HID Projector headlights - the real deal, G3 projectors in aftermarket housings (built by me) - first of its kind in a Bronco but easily removed if you prefer to run H4s. Axles/Brakes/Steering D44 front, 3.50 gearing w/open diff, power disc brakes. New calipers and pads last year. Ford 9” rear, 3.50 gearing w/open diff, big bearing, stock drum brakes (new wheel cylinders) Power brakes (vacuum) with a newer Bendix booster and a brand new master cylinder Factory power steering All bushings replaced with a Duff 14pc bushing kit and 7* C bushings. The Bronco is ready to be driven and enjoyed. A few minor items that could be done at some point but not a must to enjoy the Bronco: There are no windshield washer nozzles installed, I use the reservoir to store tools. The paint and body work are not perfect - it is not a show vehicle. Very very little rust - I crawl around this thing weekly checking and staying on top of it - thats not to say that there wasn't rust. There are signs of rust that I've stopped. Theres a small hole near the high beam switch and a hole in the drivers side spring hanger. There are also signs of prior rust before the PO replaced the floors (not all of the original floor was cut out). It has been sealed and has not gotten worse in the last 3 years. The drivers side header has a leak - I think its at the third tube - I knicked it with a wrench when I was installed the grade 8 header bolts and a new gasket. I've tried everything short of welding it - so it ticks a bit when you drive it - wouldn't be a bad idea to have it fixed or get a new set of headers. Also, very little weatherstripping since this was primarily a nice weather vehicle (although the heat does work really really well). The seats look a little faded in the pictures - thats just due to the flash from the camera - they may be slightly faded but don't look "purple". Very few leaks - maybe a dime sized drop a month. Everything else works as it should - all lights work, blinkers, horn, etc, etc. If the truck sits for a week or so it make take a few tries to get it started and it will smoke a little at startup (but only when cold). Please feel free to email me questions and I can also email more pics or call me (Tom) at 716.393.7516 I encourage you to come and see the vehicle in person before bidding - take it for a test drive and kick the tires! All pictures and videos are from today, September 27, 2010 (as evidenced by the fresh bird poop on the hood!). Please note - the last two pics show the cage and the safari top - these pics were taken earlier and was before I installed the stripes.
