Vehicle Detail
WOW!!!!! This bike is 36 years old and in immaculate original condition. This is not a restoration project. Original owner had it stored for 25 plus years and hadn't road it very much prior to that, it has 1302 original miles on it. Everything you see in the pics is original from the factory....except the carbureter and fuel lines. New owner noticed weather checked lines and the carb seemed a little inept while running...so he replaced what needed to be replaced. The bike starts up on first kick everytime and purrs like a cat. Even the seat and tires are the originals. The chrome trim and fenders are shiny and bright like it just rolled off the truck. You will not find one of these Trail 70's from this era in this condition. They're just not out there. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions and I'll clarify the best that I can. This will be a 7 day auction with a very modest starting bid price of $500. The highest bidder will be required to pay a $250 security deposit via paypal within 48 hours of auction close, and the balance at pickup or prior to arranging shipping. I'll even meet and deliver part way for .35 per mile within reason. Buyer responsible for any and all freight if you decide to arrange to have it shipped. Please look at my feedback file...as it is your assurance you will be bidding on and buying exactly what I've described herein. Best of luck and happy bidding. On Sep-27-10 at 14:51:32 PDT, seller added the following information: I've had numerous interested ebay members contacting me inquiring about the title status on this bike. I'm selling this bike for a friend who has not been available to answer the questions until this afternoon. However it was in a message he left on my voice mail, and I still can't seem to make contact with him personally. But what I did get from the message was that this does have a clear title. He obtained it today, but there were no details on whether it was an applied for lost title that cleared and showed up today, or that it was in fact the original title that showed up. But when I get that info...(more than likely by tomorrow morning) I'll pass it along and post it here on the listing. The headlight and tail lamp on this bike are in good working order, but the turn signals are not. The owner thinks it might be bulbs but he's not certain. He says he has every intention of getting the markers working prior to the buyer taking ownership, but for now bid on the bike as if the markers won't be working unless I state otherwise prior to auctions end. As far as what type of shifting system it has. He never made mention in his message on that. I'll pass that along as well. I apologize to all of the inquirers but you caught me at a time where the actual owner was not available for this info. I guess I didn't realize there would be this much interest on this bike or I would have held off listing it until I had all this information in order. For anyone that has already bid, should you feel the need to retract any bid please let me know and I'll honor it based on the fact that I do not have all the info as of yet on the bike. I have seen the bike and can attest that it is in immaculate condition both mechanically and cosmetically, but the details on title and drivetrain are a bit scant at present, but will update as I find out.On Sep-27-10 at 16:04:53 PDT, seller added the following information: Just confirmed with bike owner. The bike was sold to him with an old registration only from the original owner last week. Original owner could not find title. My friend took registration to DMV and had vin # off bike and registration ran, and vin # came back clear. Friend applied for new title and new title showed up in mail today. As previously mentioned the tail light issue will be looked at but no guarantees, however head and tail lamps do work. This bike does not have mirrors. This bike has a 4spd shifter but no clutch. So technically it's not an automatic, but it shifts without the use of a hand clutch lever.
