All original numbers matching 1979 Trans Am. This is an estate car with only 50,448 original miles! I have a copy of the original title. Named The Best Handling Car in America by Motor trend in 1979. This Trans Am has a powerful 6.6L V8 with auto trans. Factory T-Tops with original GM black leather storage bags. A/C, power steering, tilt steering wheel, power brakes, power windows and an AM/FM radio with 8 track player. Not sure what GM called it but this car does have the auto shifter that can be moved to the right then pushed forward 1 gear at a time (slap shift maybe???). I do not know alot about these cars so I tried to get a picture of tag under the hood driver side near the cowl but it wasn't very clear. It reads: I'm sure someone can decode this to determine all the options. Words can not explain how well this car drives and how dependable it is. The car was an every day car for 31 years until the owner recently passed away. She drove it 1 mile to the train station and back which is why the MILAGE IS SO LOW!!!! No major mechanical leaks and the motor does not smoke. I have service records dating back to 8/1994. The car originally had the firebird decal on the hood but 31 years of sunlight has baked the paint and and the interior. The car is straight and has never been in an accident. THE ROCKERS, FLOORS, QUARTER PANELS, INNER WHEEL WELLS and FRAME ARE SOLID AND RUST FREE!!!!!!! There is a golf ball size rust hole at the bottom of the right fender (not the rocker) and surface rust above the vent on same. There is also surface rust on the decklid near the spoiler. I've posted 24 pics and have twenty more available so you can see for yourself. Less than 100 miles on a brand new set of BFG Radial T/A tires.
