Vehicle Detail
This bike is somewhat of a collector's item since less than 11,000 of them were built for the 1987 model year, and this style only existed in the 1987 to 1988 model years (according to www.supermagna.com). Aficionados call this bike the Super Magna because its bold style was way ahead of its time. This bike has awesome power. Check out the Super Magna Owners Group International web site at http://www.supermagna.com for more information on this amazing machine! I bought this bike on eBay three years ago for $3,450.00. I am offering it at auction here for a very low starting price, and NO RESERVE! This bike runs great, and looks great, especially considering it is a 23 year-old classic. The tires have a lot of tread left (the previous owner stated they were replaced about 1500 miles before I purchased it, and I have put on less than 100 miles since owning the bike). The 700cc v4 engine provides awesome power to this nimble machine. It has a new battery. There are no dents in the tank. The odometer reads less than 9000. Note: There is a small scuff mark on the lower part of the left bottom tail pipe (I am not sure how it got there since it was there when I bought it, although it looks like it could have been scuffed by a stone, or maybe backed into a curb when it was parked--see picture). Only minor rust spots around some nuts and bolts. Minor, tiny "brush" marks on the engine casing/components (perhaps from years of washing). Minor blemishes on the wheels and the engine casing/components. Small amount of rust on the kickstand and pegs. You have to be really close to see any of them, though. The speedometer seems to momentarily lag behind the actual speed (as in it seems to take a second to catch up to the actual speed), although I have not done any testing to confirm its accuracy or function. I checked the odometer function against a known distance, and it performed correctly. The bike is cold blooded initially. The last two Magnas I owned were cold blooded, as well. I presume it is the nature of the beast. As you can see, I am honest to a fault, so bid with confidence! On Sep-22-10 at 16:47:50 PDT, seller added the following information:The photo of the right side of the tank shows a small chip of blue paint missing, which reveals red underneath. The color code on the bike frame is for blue (PB161), which may mean the tank was replaced with a red one and then repainted. I am not sure, however; since it was already painted blue when I bought it.On Sep-23-10 at 19:49:50 PDT, seller added the following information: Apparently the previous owner got rid of the passenger hand strap when they added the backrest. On Sep-24-10 at 21:37:35 PDT, seller added the following information: I will sell to Canada, too! (I didn't mean to exclude my neighbors, but it wouldn't let me update the "Other Item Info" section after I saved the ad the first time).
