Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is a 1993 Ford Explorer with no reserve price. I've had it for approximately 14 years, but will be moving soon and I don't have room to take it with me. I have not been driving this car for the last 2 years or so, and as such, it's registered as non-operational. Up to the time I was driving it, the car was running great. I never had a problem with the car. Since it has been sitting for such a long time, my suggestion would be to have the car tuned up and the fluids replaced. The car does start (jump starting since the battery has since gone bad) and the vehicle does drive (I've moved it from the front of the house to the back as needed). Since it is in non operational status, it cannot be legally driven on the street until it's registered.A few details as the car does need some work:Interior - the seats are in good condition, carpets could stand a cleaning. Paint - the paint is cracking / peeling in some places, faded in others. Windshield - as you can see in the pictures, there is a crack down the middle which never impaired my vision, but you may want to replace. Salvage title - as mentioned before, I purchased it nearly 14 years ago with the salvage title. I don't have details on what the reason was behind the salvage title. Drivetrain - the engine starts and sounds strong - the transmission was rebuilt about 6 or 7 years ago and has less than 5,000 miles on it. The rear driver side brakes may need adjustment as it seems to lock up easily when braking. The passenger front window and the driver rear window go up and down slower than the other windows. There are 2 small leaks on the interior of the cabin when it rains. The A/C compressor and heater work, but the lever on the inside to move the air from hot to cold is broken - this should be a simple fix. Currently, the lever is moved over to the "heat" setting. Inside door handle - on the driver side, the handle is broken. Tires are in good condition, just need to add air to one of them. CD/MP3 player works well. Given all these details that need to be worked out, i'm starting the bid very low with no reserve. Highest bid takes the car. With a bit of elbow grease and a small investment, you could have a great work vehicle. As you can see from my feedback, i'm going to great lengths to explain all the flaws that i see with the car so that you can be fully informed as to the condition of the vehicle. Buyer is responsible for towing or pulling the vehicle away. Might be best to bring car dolly. As I mentioned before, it is in non-operational status, so it shouldnt be driven on the street until its been registered. If you are local and would like to see the vehicle first hand prior to bidding, email me and it can be arranged. Car is sold as is with no warranty. Ask any and all questions before bidding. Your bid is a legal obligation to buy. I'm almost giving the car away based on such a low starting bid. Pick up or shipping is buyers responsibility. Please note: if you have negative or no feedback, contact me prior to bidding as I reserve the right to cancel your bid.Down payment of $250 due within 24 hours by paypal. Payment in full is due within 7 days of auction end or buyer will forfiet down payment and car will be re-listed. Down payment is by PayPal only, the balance must be paid in cash / cashiers check; no private or company checks. I am not a dealer. Car must be picked up within 10 days. If you cannot pick up within 10 days, contact me and we will work out arrangements providing payment in full has been made. Please email any questions. I will reply asap! Good luck and happy bidding!
