This is a rare, (2)-owner FJ40 that has been in the Boulder, CO area all of its life (ie dry climate = minimal rust). In general, this is an all original, stock FJ40. Mechanically it is in excellent condition, starts quickly and easily, and runs very strong. The body and frame are also in very good condition and all rust has been removed, treated, primed and painted. Almost every nut and bolt has been touched, tightened and/or replaced. The highest attention has been paid to every detail, including restoring original bottle jack and handles, customized tool kit, emergency lights, owner’s manual, working stock AM/FM radio, and many, many other things as described below and as shown in the pictures. This restoration has taken almost 5 years and hundreds of hours of passionate, meticulous attention to detail. This vehicle is a terrific example of an FJ40 Landcruiser that has been given new life. For more photos visit: http://tazmack.pixa.us/albums/76335/?page=6 ENGINE & FUEL SYSTEM Engine was professionally rebuilt at approximately 85,000 miles (previous owner) Cylinder Compression(lb/in2): Cyl 1 =110, Cyl 2 =115, Cyl 3 =115, Cyl 4 =115, Cyl 5 =115, Cyl 6 =125 Electronic Ignition (2F Dizzy Distributor and Coil) which improves engine performance and engine start almost immediately. New spark plugs and high-performance plug wires. Engine professionally timed & tuned. New oil, oil filter, air filter and Slick50 engine additive. Carburetor was recently rebuilt and professionally tuned/adjusted. Fuel tank was removed, drained, cleaned and repainted. EXTERIOR All body parts (except for tub) were removed, sandblasted and professionally primed and repainted, inside and out with a high quality grade Dupont high-gloss polyurethane (Imron 3.5 HG) with original matching color (Dune Beige, Color Code 416). All glass was removed during paint process to get excellent paint coverage and protection of all gasket sealing surfaces. Front windshield in very good condition with just some very minor pits. New windshield rest pads New hood rest pads New mounting hardware, mostly stainless steel (ie windshield and hood hinges, top and tub bolts, door hardware, etc.) New OEM-style, high-quality, telescoping mirrors Wheel wells were thoroughly cleaned and undercoated with 3M undercoating. New left/right apron emblems. New rear TOYOTA emblem. Heavy duty dual, OEM tow hooks on front. Hood hooks were sand blasted and re-painted. FRAME & UNDERCARRIAGE Straight, clean, and in excellent condition. Frame and undercarriage have been cleaned and mostly repainted with POR-15 Rust Protector. DRIVETRAIN & SUSPENSION Transmission, transfer case and both differentials were checked for proper function and all fluids were drained and replaced. Front Trunnion/Knuckle bearings replaced, knuckles rebuilt, seals and gaskets replaced @ 82,490 miles. Brand new Monroe nitrogen-charged heavy-duty shock absorbers on front and rear. New polyurethane leaf-spring bushings installed on all spring pivots. New "Hell-for-Stout" Heavy-Duty "H-style" 1-1/2" lift front and rear leaf spring shackles. Replaced rubber boots on all tie rods & re-greased all fittings. Shifting and functioning of all gears is smooth and solid. Not sure, but assume that clutch was replaced during engine rebuild. Checked all ball joints and steering stabilizer refurbished. INTERIOR The interior is nearly perfect. New front seat covers (Oscar, marine-grade Naugahyde vinyl with UV protection). Rear folding jump seats are in very good condition and very solid and fully functional including new straps. Factory roll bar in excellent condition including pads and has been repainted. All new door seals, window channels, and weather stripping on all sealing surfaces. Brand new custom fit headliner. New custom-fit dash cover. Orignal OEM custom front floor mat in near-perfect condition. Rear wheel well tops have be cleaned, painted and re-inforced with heavy-gauge stainless steel. Interior floor and wheel wells prepared and sprayed with 3M Undercoating. Commercial-grade indoor/outdoor carpet in rear custom fit to tub. New heavy-duty sun visor covers with storage pockets. New front seat belts. Rear seat belts, original, but in good/working condition. All accessories checked for proper function - gauges, heater, defroster, lights, signals, wipers, etc. BRAKES New front and rear brake shoes. Drums checked and in good condition. Brake wheel cylinders have been rebuilt. Brake fluids replaced and bled. Brakes have been professionally adjusted. COOLING Radiator has been cleaned and flushed and all hoses and clamps were checked and replaced as needed. Cooling fan has been replaced with more efficient, lighter-weight, plastic, 4-blade fan and cooling shroud. ELECTRICAL Interstate MTP-24 Mega-Tron Plus battery in very good condition. Electronic Ignition System Installed (2F Distributor, high-performance coil and new engine side plate). Alternator and starter in good condition. Charging system, lights and turn signals, horns are in good working condition. Replaced all dashboard lights with new, higher-power, bulbs (5x brighter than OEM bulbs). Brand new, low-profile, lighted tachometer. Windshield wiper motor rebuilt, cleaned, greased and new wiper blades installed. Heater fan, blower and core rebuilt. Heater air tubes replaced. Halogen headlights. New OEM front turn signals. New rear turn signals with new taillight rock shields. New interior dome lights (Driver’s side and rear compartment). WHEELS & TIRES Brand new Kumho Venture AT 4-ply Radial P235/75R15 all-weather tires. Wheels cleaned, sanded and repainted. New high-quality chrome lug nuts. All hub caps in good, restored condition. Spare tire in very good condition and includes matching hub cap and wheel lock with key. EXHAUST New OEM exhaust pipe, muffler, clamps, and hangers. EMISSIONS No emissions equipment.
