It has only had one owner and has always been babied. The original owner lived in Columbus Indiana and bought this new. I still have a copy of the original title. With only 92,000 miles it runs like a dream and has recently had a massive amount of work done on it to get it back to totally ready to hit the road. I know personally how frustrating it can be to buy a used car and then have a ton of work done just to keep it going. That's why all of this work was already done to ensure that the new owner can jump in and go! Here are the things that were done: * New Alternator * New CD player with MP3 Outlet * Injector seals * Injector lines * Rotors and seals * Pack front bearings * Master Cylinder * Fuel Filter * ALL NEW BELTS!!!!! * Serviced AC unit and refilled with freon * Oil Change * New Wipers * Lube Shift bushings This was all done by a professional VW Mechanic and needless to say...this was an expensive job, but now you get a worry free vehicle. I just got back from a 600 mile trip in this Vanagon and it ran amazing on the highway and backroads. No issues at all. The air conditioning was great!!! This vanagon does not smoke, leak or burn oil. The motor is nice and tight with plenty of power to go all day. I was doing 80 - 85 on the highway and it was super smooth. The interior is IMMACULATE! One of my favorite things about this model is its ability to function as a camper. The back seat folds down into a HUGE bed...much bigger than the camper beds. I am 6'5" and have slept on it a few times very comfortably. It is great for camping and going to the drive in theater. It has a folding dinner table and two rear facing seats so the whole family can eat together. There is plenty of storage under the seat for all your camping needs. This vanagon comes with FULL CURTAIN SET that was never used. This is the ultimate in privacy when camping because you can put the curtains up in just a couple minutes and have complete privacy. I just got the windows tinted with a lifetime Guaranty by Ziebart I am 6'5" and have slept on it a few times very comfortably. It is great for camping and going to the drive in theater. As you notice...The wheels on this Vanagon really make it stand out. They are 17x7.5 alloy wheels with brand new tires. These wheels really hold the road much better than the factory wheels. I spent close to $1,000 for this setup so here is how the bidding will go. I am selling the Vanagon with the original alloy Carat wheels with brand new tires. If you wish to upgrade to the 17's I will swap them out for an additional $500 on top of the auction price. So, for example, if the Vanagon ends for $7,000 you can take it with the factory Carat wheels and brand new tires for that price or I will swap out the wheels for the 17's for an additional $500 making the total $7,500. Understand that this is not a brand new car. It will have some of the characteristics of a used car (dings and chips) but it has no rust issues and is very solid. There is one scrape on the passenger side near the rear but not too bad. This is a no reserve auciton and will go to the highest bidder. I have it for sale locally so I reserve the right to end it early if the car sells locally. In order to release the vehicle though, I will need to have payment in full through a certified check if you are shipping the vehicle. It will take my bank around 4 business days to clear the check. When the auction ends. I will need a $250 non-refundable deposit within 24 hours of the auction end. This will need to come through paypal. * Yes, this is a used vehicle and is not in show condition. It is the original paint so it has some rock chips and dings that come with a 20+ year old vehicle. There is a shallow dent on the drivers side above the wheel well that is clearly seen in the pictures. It is an easy pull. I had a local body shop quote me somewhere in the 400-500 range to address it and the scrape on the passenger side door and wheel well area. The seams are good on almost the entire body except for a couple of inches around that scrape where there is some light surface rust peeking out. Overall the body is extremely solid and wouldn't require much attention at all for the person who is considering giving it a full body makeover. * I just took it for a test ride today and it is running great. I turned the ac on and it seems that speed 3 on the control has gone out. I had it checked out and it is a simple fix, it's the ac resistor in the back which is pretty much a pull and plug job to get all the speeds back. The ac still blows super cold so it's not a compressor or line issue, just the resistor. I just ordered one and hopefully it will be here before the auction ends and I will get it going again 100%. If the resistor does not come in time. I will take of $75 from the total price and forward the part to the winning bidder to have a professional put it in for them, or pocket the $75.
