1987 Volkswagen Cabriolet VIN # WVWCA0154HK020952 210,000 Miles Good things: Starts reliably, newer battery, almost new tires (about 200 miles on them), new radiator fan, new upper and lower cooling hoses, new spark plugs and O2 sensor, less than a 1000 miles since brake job (new pads, shoes, one new caliper, two new wheel cylinders, new hardware on rear drums, most brake lines replaced), decent audio system (2 10" subs, 2 amplifiers, decent speakers, JVC headunit), newer 7 spoke VW wheels, both half-shafts up front replaced in recent years, clean title, passed emissions last time it was required in WI, good gas mileage (25 mpg or so), not fast but definitely still fun to drive. Bad things: Windshield is cracked, some spots of surface rust (nothing too big and nothing rusted through however), turn signals stopped working recently (I have no idea why, could be a simple fix), blower fan only works on certain speeds (most likely a blower resistor problem, should be easy to fix), it originally had air but the previous owner removed all of the components, a couple side marker lights don't work (probably just bulbs), small tear on convertible top, some other small issues that come with a 23 year old car. I will include two repair manuals and some miscellaneous parts I have laying around. I’d like to keep it, but I don’t drive it as much as I should and I need the room in the garage for my other project. It’s not the prettiest or coolest thing out there but it is a fun to drive, reliable convertible for a low price. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it as much as I did.
