1966 Lotus Elan SE Series 3 (the car was bought new in 1967). Essentially a one owner car since new. I still have the original owners manual and service book, and even the receipt for the car's first oil change! The Elan was completely and thoroughly restored in 1992 by Kent Bain at Automotive Restorations, Inc. in Stratford, Connecticut (see www.automotiverestorations.com ). It was a nut and bolt restoration that included a new Spyder chassis / suspension / uprights / roll bar / side impact bars, brakes, solid drive half shafts, hubs, wiring, fully rebuilt engine, gearbox, differential, new radiator, exhaust, leather interior, renovated dash, carpet, German cloth convertible top / tonneau, fuel cell, paint and so on and so on and so on.... This car was absolutely as close to perfect as an Elan can be when it was restored nearly 20 years ago. It's still really, really, really nice. It has been garaged and well maintained since the restoration, and it has traveled only about 19,000 miles. The filler neck on the Fuel Safe fuel cell bladder has recently cracked, so a new aluminum Lotus Elan fuel tank has been ordered and will be included with the sale.
