Vehicle Detail

HistoryI am the second owner of this beautiful 1973 California MGB roadster. This car has been in California since 1973. It was originally bought at San Jose British Motor Cars LTD on 11 November 1973 for $4506.55. I still have the original sticker, invoice, temporary CA DMV registration, and canceled check for the original purchase. As the second owner I could not keep the original CA title but before turning it into the CA DMV I made a color copy of it and that I still have. I bought the car in 2000 and since then it has been driven weekends for fun and I have kept the car in as original condition as possible while keeping it up mechanically. ConditionThe body is in excellent condition. There is no rust visible anywhere on the car. Neither is there any bondo of any kind. The license plates are the original 1973 issue and completely undamaged. The engine was rebuilt at Muranyi's in San Diego on, 9 September 1986 at 94,000 miles, and I have the build sheet for the work done at that time. The paint is a respray that the original owner had done in San Diego in 1986 and there are a few minor stone chips. The soft top had a small tear in on the driver side and a seam separation on the passenger side window, (see photos). The hard top is white and has been hanging in my garage. Its side windows are not completely clear, se photos). The original bags for the covers, jack, and 'tunno' supports are all in the trunk and in good shape, (see photo). The windshield has a small chip in it, (see photo). The front end had new springs, tie rod ends, and the v8 a arm bushings in 2006.The shocks we replaced with four new hydraulic dampers in 2008.The dual 6 volt battery system was upgraded to a single 12 volt system in 2006.The horn, radio, lights and signals work. The fan switch has broken but a have a new one.The original am/fm radio works but has some static. The interior is original and in excellent condition. You can tell it is original because it is the navy blue that is not being made by current replacement forms. Additional Photos and VideoThere is video of this car on Youtube that can be viewed by anyone. Just search for Hitchcock1960There is also additional photos of photobucket. http://s1004.photobucket.com/albums/af166/LittleRedKarma/ SummaryThis is a rare opportunity to own an extremely well documented California MGB. It is in well above average condition. However, This car is being sold as is with no warrantees or guarantees expressed or implied. It is the bidder's responsibility to ask any questions they may have regarding this car before bidding. Any shipping expenses are the sole responsibility of the winning bidder but the seller will assist with details that may be necessary to achieve a smooth delivery. The reserve price is fair and reasonable for a car in this condition and it is the intention of the owner to sell. This listing is not a feeler for buyers, I intend to sell it so please bid accordingly.
