Here you go...one more chance at this beautiful 1968 Mustang Coupe. It is being relisted because the winner of the last auction couldn't come up with the cash to close the deal. Just for the record, I'm not the bank and will not take payments on this item :-) It has a numbers matching 302 engine with 4 barrel carb, automatic transmission, remote mirror, and power steering. The engine block and the transmission case have the correct VIN stamped in them for this car. I have restored or refurbished almost everything on this car, so here is a parital listing of what I have done in the 12 years I have owned it: Rebuilt engine 30,000 miles ago. The engine has a new Holley 450 carb, Edelbrock aluminum intake, flat top pistons, petronix ignition, and a mild performance cam. It starts and runs flawlessly, even in cold weather, and has tons of power. It needs nothing, and I would trust this car on any road trip you want to take. Rebuilt transmission at the same time as the engine. Rebuilt front suspension, added brand new flaming river brand steering gear. Replaced radiator with Modine Lifetime guarantee unit, new hoses, battery cables, power steering pump. Added 3.00 rato rear axle gear Interior completely refurbished. This includes new door panels and all new chrome on the dash board. Front seats have been reupholstered with all new foam. Brakes rebuilt: new wheel cylinders, new drums on front, new springs/hardware, new shoes, new master cylinder. Fresh candyapple red paint in June 2010. Obviously I didn't put a five star councours paint job on a $10,000 car, but it looks better than most drivers I see and turns heads all over town. This car has OEM Ford Magnum 500 wheels off of a 71 mustang. The floors and frame rails are all solid. No rust problems anywhere. The door data plate is still in tact on this car. It indicates a Charlotte NC District Sales Office (DSO). As far as I can tell, the car has been in the south since new. It looks, runs and drives great. I drove it every day until I painted it. I set the reserve at $8500, or you can buy it today for a mere $9250. Check the mustang catalogs for the price of parts these days...my buy it now price is a lot less that what it would take for you to build the same car.
