Vehicle Detail

You are looking at a GM truck, my title says Chevy but when i put in the vin on the ebay description, it brings it up as a GMC. The truck has a GMC grill and steering wheel. If you are anal retentive about about GMC versus Chevy, I can not guarantee which it is. I now think it is a GMC, but the title says Chevy. In any case it is a very dependable work horse that needs a new stable. I bought this truck to use for landscaping my house, hauling wood, and plowing the driveway in the winter. I did my last load of topsoil and it is time to sell her. I need to get a pickup that i can take off road for camping. Will haul 3 yards of soil, gravel or sand, have had 6 yards of mulch when i put up plywood sides. The hoist is electric over hydraulic, which i found very dependable and easy to use. Has 2" receiver hitch with four flat and round 6 pin connector, there is an electric brake controller in the cab which i have never used, no guarantee it is good. Plow is powered by a belt driven Fisher pump. Plow blade is heavy duty, 8' wide and in good shape. should be good for many years. built 350 th400 np208 dual rear wheels. Four wheel drive pulled me out of the muck on a few occasions, works good. The engine was rebuilt a few years ago and has an Eldelbrock carb, aluminum intake manifold, mild cam, headers, MSD ingnition. Dual Flowmaster mufflers with pipes exiting just over the rear diff, providing more clearance and less of a chance of hanging them up on something. exhaust is loud, i think it needs new doughnut type gaskets. I drove it like this to scare the deer and wake up the bicyclists. It definatly has a much better power range than a stock motor. She pulls with a load going uphill without much of a slow down. The engine was $2000 grand rebuild for the guy who had the truck before me. Has a new starter, brake master cylinder, front pads, good battery and a low mileage transfer case. These were the issues that i saw that need to be addressed right away, so i did them. There are small drips from the drive train and the hoist cylinder, not bad at all, keep in mind these are small slow drips. It has not let me down ever. All electrical components work, so you will not be hunting down little problems that take a lot of time to fix. I went through the wiring and lights so it is good to go. It does not have a radio, but looks like the wiring is there, no guarantees. Frame is in good condition, no real heavy rust, bed is still in very good shape with a few spots of rust (not in the floor), exterior of the cab has dents here and there and is not the prettiest paint job, but again no major rust, rockers and corners are in good shape. Tires are LT235 85 16. have some cracking between the treads, but sidewalls look good and i have been running some heavy loads on them without a problem. The front tread is ok, not bald, the rear has a lot more tread. I think you could get a couple of years out of them. I will be posting more pictures later. please ask for specific pic and i will email. Don't offer me 2000 like its something i will jump at, 2000 buys you something you will need to tow home. My truck will pull your 2000 truck home on a trailer. Add this up dually dump + 4x4 + built motor + plow = $3000 or more. Clear title in hand, ready to transfer to you with a bill of sale. The online history check show a 1987 accident in FL, some type of damage on the left side. keep in mind it drives straight and you cant tell there was something there. I will end my description by adding the following. The truck is 25 years old, it is not three years old, so if you want something that looks like new and depreciates three or four thousand dollars per year then go buy a $40,000 truck. If you want something that will get the job done and does not cost an arm and a leg come see and drive my truck. I can deliver the truck anywhere within 50 miles on my GPS free of charge so you can get it home and register it when you want Email me or call 860-798-6973 for address or other questions. Thanks, Ed
