You will find the paint to be very shiny and glossy with lots of luster. The exterior is a classy and sharp combination of colors. You will find the metallic body color accented with black accents. The body color shows well. The light color hides minor imperfections well without looking dull. Chrome Wheels add a light sparkle without being tacky. Black accents include the lower body panels, extra dark tinted windows, and roof rack. Silver continues on the front, painted to match bug deflector. Ford hails its redesigned 2003 full-size sport utility vehicle as the best on the road, best in the dirt, best in the snow. The Expedition is second in size only to the Ford Excursion. The sophisticated exterior styling of the new Explorer is nicely squared-off yet with a muscular appearance. Ford kept the signature grille intact, making the 2003 Expedition easily recognizable. One thing we notice about this SUV is the lack of road rash on the front. You will find the hood, grill, front bumper, and overall front nose area to be in very good condition with little wear. This Ford is riding on a set of Factory Upgraded 17" Alloy Wheels that are in great condition. This SUV is riding on a set of Tires that just passed VA State Safety Inspection, size P265 70 R 17. The wheel and tire combination on this SUV look great! One of my favorite upgrades on this SUV is the keypad on the driver’s door. We have the code that allows you to unlock the vehicle or lock it. Use the 5 digit code to unlock the driver’s door, press the last digit a second time to further unlock all other doors, or press 7 & 9 together to lock all doors. I just love this keypad. Especially when we go to Kings Dominion, the river, or out bike riding. No need to worry about carrying and loosing keys. There are lots of exterior features including Factory Running Boards. These make getting in and out of the SUV very easy, even in heels, for the elderly, or small children. Black Accents continue with the Dark Tinted Windows that help to protect passengers and items inside. The window tint is remarkably dark and obviously aftermarket. There is an adjustable roof luggage rack, perfect for more stuff. You will find a factory tow package with light hook up. The Rear of this SUV Features a Large Hatch. I love this separate hatch and window option because it increases versatility. With the hatch totally open, you can stand right next to the bumper and don't have to reach over a tailgate. You can also pop the rear window open. This is great if you want to let large items hang out the back, and great for dogs who want to let their heads hand out, too. There is a strap on the rear hatch that makes closing the hatch easier. The Rear Bumper is Black with Dark Gray Non Skid. This Non Skid makes getting in and out easier, even when wet. I really like the depth and height of the bumper. The front of this Ford Expedition is large and in charge! The combination of silver, black, and chrome looks great. One thing I love about the front of this Ford is the aggressive lines of the front nose. Sharp contours add to the styling and overall appeal of this large suv. The bumper is Black with a front license plate holder and two tow hooks. The grill is black with a silver outline. The front Ford emblem is on the front grill. The headlights are bright and shiny. Front Fog Lights finish off the front of this Expedition. Exterior Upgrades Continue with the Dark Tinted Windows. Protecting Passengers, Items, and the Interior Itself, the Tint also looks Fantastic. I love these dark tinted windows, and so does my daughter. The dark tint keeps her happier and quieter. There is a rear window wiper with defrost. Even with the third seat upright there is plenty of room for cargo. This is a full size SUV so 8 people and all their luggage for a week easily fit inside. There are seatbelts for 8 passengers, but in VA adults in the back of the vehicle are not required to wear seat belts, so we actually had 11 adults in this Ford one night, and we all fit. Overall, the Exterior of this SUV is Very Good. I do notice that the lower part of the truck has been painted black. I do not know if this is factory or not, I suspect it was done as an aftermarket upgrade. A few places, as shown in the pictures, the black is chipped. But, overall the black lower panels looks very good and I think compliments this truck very well. Otherwise, I do not notice any noteworthy imperfections. No dents, no dings, and overall very good condition. Otherwise, you may find a normal door ding or something but all typical to the age and mileage. If you expectations are realistic you will be very pleasantly surprised. The carfax does not show any accident history and I do not see any paint repair or body work. Interior: The Interior of this truck is also in Very Good Condition. The Inside of this SUV has so many options I am going to split this description up into lots of sections. I sat in this Ford for over 30 minutes listing all the options and still probably missed a few little surprises! Interior / Upholstery: This XLT, in true Luxury SUV Form, Features Soft Premium Cloth Dark Gray Seating. There are Front Captain Seats, Middle Row Bench Seat and Rear Solid Bench Seat. The inside is a combination of Gray carpet, dash, and black accents. You will find the overall interior condition to be very good, too. In general, I find this SUV to be in much better condition than what I would expect for the year and miles. The seats are all soft and subtle. The carpets and floor mats are a coordinating gray color and in very good condition. You will not find any noteworthy stains or flaws, just usual light wear on some of the floor mats. This SUV comes with full floor mats which are all large and contoured to the lines and seats of this suv. The Front Seats 2 Passengers in Individual High Back, Style Captain Chairs. The driver’s seat is equipped with Multi Point Power Adjustments including manual Recline, Lumbar Support. The Front Seats show very little wear, less than expected for the year and mileage. Each Front Seat has Adjustable Height Shoulder Seat Belts. The Passenger side has one entry handle. Overhead you will find two adjustable reading lights as well as stationary entry lighting. Overhead you will find a full console. There are several drop down cubby. The first one, which is my favorite, has a small adjustable rear view mirror for monitoring passengers or cargo inside the suv. Behind this mirror are rear AC controls. Behind the AC controls is a large drop down storage cubby, large enough for two pair of sunglasses. Second Row Seating: The Second Row Bench is a 40/20/40 Split. So You Can Flip this seat forward in three sections. This makes getting in and out of the back seat easier and more convenient. The standard 40/20/40-split, the middle of the second-row seat can be slid forward 11 inches; this handy feature allows a child in a safety seat to be closer to its parents in the front seats. This also allows for more customizable cargo hauling space. There are two adjustable height head rests and two adjustable height shoulder belts for this second row. A very nice upgrade is that each side of this second row is independently recline-able. One recommendation that I forgot to take a picture of is, with the middle section flipped down, it serves as a sort of center console for the passengers riding on either side of this second row. The back of the seat makes a nice, large platform. The kids love this for coloring and playing games while traveling. From the back of the center console between the front seats are more features. You will find audio controls, complete with head phone jack. On the lower side is another AC power source. There are two cup holders that drop down from the back of this center console. There are 4 total overhead clothes hooks, one on each side at the second row seating. Over head, the middle seat passengers have two adjustable reading lights as well as overhead stationary dome lighting. Over head, there are vents for the heating as well as separate overhead controls. The Rear Doors Also have integrated Storage Pockets and Cup Holders. Third Row Seating: The Third Row of Seating is a solid Bench Seat. This seat is for 3 more passengers, offering total seating for 8! Wow! This Seat easily folds into the floor, a design upgrade for the 2003 model, for the ultimate interior cargo space. There are more separate air vents overhead. Overhead you also find another set of 2 adjustable reading lights with the stationary entry lights. This far rear cargo area also has two more clothes hooks. You will find two cup holder back here on the side of the seat. A little something I notice about riding in the rear seat is that it sits up slightly higher than the middle seat. This actually made me feel more included in conversation with the riders in the front and middle because I could actually see everyone. The roof raises up a little inside so head room is not reduced in the rear so even my 6 foot tall boyfriend was comfortable back here. With the third seat folded into the floor and the second row folded forward, there's a spacious cargo bed that's big enough for a 4- by 8-foot sheet of plywood. Front Console Amenities: The Front Seating area of this SUV is Loaded with Power and Comfort Features! From the Driver's Seat you will find cool stuff to the left, right, overhead, straight ahead and more! The Expedition’s instrument panel is tipped forward, 11 cup holders are installed, and the 2003 model boasts the largest center console in the industry. Starting to the left, you will find the front doors to have Power Window Controls, Power Door Lock Controls (complete with 2 keys including 2 remote key fobs). The driver’s window is 1 touch auto and the door locks have child lock protection. There are large door storage cubbies on both front doors, each with a divider. Another little something I really like about this SUV is that each door has a cup holder built into the lower section. Even the exterior side view mirrors are power, too! These mirror controls are on the driver’s door. One of my favorite parts of this SUV are the power adjustable foot pedals. No more feeling too close to the steering wheel for us short people, or reaching for taller drivers, these power pedals make for the ultimate in driver’s comfort. This upgrade combined with the redesign on the front exterior makes this SUV easy for any driver, any size, any stature. On the left side of the driver's seat and the right side of the passenger seat, are the seat adjustment controls and lumbar support buttons. There is a Huge center console with lots of features. This center console offers deep storage with CD case storage slats. There is tissue or napkin storage on the top of the inside of this center console. The top of this center console is padded and covered in soft vinyl. This adds to front passenger comfort since I normally ride with one elbow resting on this center console. Just in front of this center console are 2 cup holders, a large storage area with non skid rubber, and ac power source. The inside of this SUV smells great. I do not smell any foul or obnoxious odors, no pet and no smoke smells. You will notice there is no ashtray in this suv, future suggesting it has never been smoke in before. Both front passengers have Dual Sunshades with Lighted Vanity Mirrors. Directly ahead of the driver, you will find a sporty steering wheel that is smooth and shows no wear. This is a tilt steering wheel with Cruise Control Controls. The Front Console has more controls and features. There is a AC power source, 2 Cup Holders. The large glove box holds the owner’s manual. As a an XLT model you will find this SUV to be Loaded Up with Tons of Options! Seriously, this 2003 Model has all the features of most new cars! Awesome! From Front to Back, Top to Bottom, Luxury Surrounds! This SUV is so Loaded it is hard to keep track. Look at some of these examples: In total you will find 4 clothes hooks, 9 overhead lights, 11 Cup Holders and more! The interior of this SUV even smells great! There is no lingering odor. No smoke smells and no pet smells. There are no small hairs either to indicate that a pet has ever been in this car. You can see in the pictures that the inside of this SUV is very nice. All writing on all interior knobs is in perfect condition, it is all bright white and easy to read. The spare tire is mounted on the underside of the vehicle, outside, so it does not take up any of the interior cargo space. This super easy to drive Automatic Transmission Features Overdrive. You can turn the overdrive off when towing or hauling. Entertainment System: The Audio system in this Ford is a Premium, Upgraded Factory Sound System. Included are: CD Player and Cassette Player. Believe it or not, but many books on tape are still that, on tape, so this cassette deck is more useful than you may think. In Dash you will find a Factory Cassette Player and AM FM Radio. The radio features RDS, so it displays the song title, artist, and radio station playing. Overall the Interior of this SUV is in Excellent / Great Condition. Our detailer did not even charge us the normal SUV cleaning cost because this Expedition was so clean. Under the Hood:This Super Powerful and Practical horsepower, 5.4 Liter V8 engine. This SUV never wants for power and won't let you down. This teams with a automatic transmission, featuring OD Off for hauling/towing. All Wheel Drive / 4 Wheel Drive - This Ford features a very sophisticated 4x4 system. On the dash is a single switch, you can select All Wheel Drive or lock into 4 Hi or 4 Lo! With automatic locking hubs, you can control all this with a touch of a button from the comfort of the driver's seat. A Factory Towing Package with Light hook up can tow up to 8,900 pounds and thus lets you take what you want with you when you go! Driving Impressions: I have driven this Expedition many times! Comfortable in the rain or snow, Practical when driving around all my friends and versatile if I needed to tow or haul something, I just love this Full Size SUV! Oh, did I mention how Cool it Looks!! Around town, on the highway, This Expedition Performs Flawlessly! The brakes are solid with no pulsating, the alignment is straight and true. The transmission shifts smoothly and the engine feels strong. We have been very amazed at how clean and fun to drive this SUV has been! It has great condition Tires and passed VA State Safety Inspection without needing a single repair. When we got this SUV we knew the ac compressor needed to be replace, so we had that service work performed last week. So, this SUV is ready for the summer heat with a fully serviced AC system. We have tested the power features and have found everything to be working just great! I would absolutely recommend this SUV for any friend or family member. The VA State Safety Inspection is valid until 7-2011. The only issue I have noticed is that a few times the door ajar light stayed on even when I thought the door was closed all the way. I don‘t know if this is a glitch with the light or if a door was not closed all the way. Either way, I don‘t think this is a big issue but in telling you everything I know about this SUV I am mentioning In its 2003 form, the Expedition has more defined fender and wheel lip moldings. According to Chief Designer Mike Arbaugh, short-statured drivers can see the SUV’s hood, and the vehicle’s track width has grown by 1.6 inches. An all-new, mostly hydroformed frame contains nine cross-members. Ford says the body is 42 percent stronger and vibration has been improved by 67 percent. Ford reduced the Expedition’s friction by 29 percent, doubled the stiffness of the steering, and stiffened the body to reduce noise, vibration and harshness. During assembly, 34 pounds of structural foam is injected into the Expedition at seven locations throughout the body to aid noise reduction. The 2003 model’s unsprung weight is 110 pounds less than its predecessor’s. A new independent rear suspension is installed, along with new rack-and-pinion steering. Ford says the Expedition’s revised braking system has the largest brakes in its class. An improved coefficient of drag promises greater ease in slipping through the air, and the SUV’s ride height has been lowered for greater compatibility with other vehicles. Engineers also worked on engine noise to yield what is now called “a confident sound.” Ford claims the ability to converse inside the vehicle at wide-open throttle beats the competition. Price! We are an Independent Dealership! With love overhead and high volume, our cars are priced less than most private sellers and normally only a few hundred dollars over our cost. We can provide quality cars at a low cost. Look at Wal-Mart, high volume companies save you money. 2. In VA, all of our running vehicles have to be State Safety Inspected. Virginia has one of the most strict inspection processes. An independent shop inspects such components as Lights, Suspension, Brakes, Tires, Windshield, and More! We usually plan on spending at least $600 per car to get them to pass state inspection. So, you have piece of mind that this inspection has been done recently. 3. As a dealer, you never have to wait to legally drive and register your car. Even if there is a bank payoff or title, we can facilitate an easy exchange and provide any necessary temporary tags and accompanying paperwork so you can drive away at the time of pick up. (Please note, not all cars qualify for temporary tags if we have the original title at time of transfer. 4. Safety! As a business, you have the added security and confidence that your safety is maintained at the time of pick up. No driving up to a stranger's house, our transactions take place at a licensed dealership. 5. Information available about each car we sell! We are professionals with years of experience. We are not dumping any unwanted junk out of our back yard on eBay. We spend hours taking detailed photos, including specific information about each car, and adding our own impressions of how a car performs. We do not have emotional attachments to these cars and try to be as honest as possible about the overall condition. 6. On, eBay you have the confidence that you are shopping with a state licensed, bonded and insured company. We cannot scam and run eBay frauds the way private sellers could. Plus, look at our years eBay history. We want to talk about a couple of items. We are Wholesale Dealers. We buy our cars Directly from New Car Dealers and Not Auctions. We take all reasonable steps to ensure that we sell quality cars. When they are traded in, someone at the new car dealer drives the car. When we buy the car, someone from our dealership drives the car. If a car has a problem we either fix it or disclose it. We have no intention or knowledge of ever selling a car with a problem. However, all cars break. I wish I could, but I cannot predict when a car will break. We do our best to represent the vehicle fairly, however, we are human and do make mistakes. Any minor imperfections consistent with age are not reasons for refusal of delivery/pick up or negotiation. We sell cars As Is, and cannot warranty any vehicles we sell so please take careful consideration when bidding on or buying now these cars. Whenever we sell a car on eBay, we always seem to be asked how we think the car would function on a long drive home from pick up. While I cannot offer any warranty or guarantee I have no reason to believe this Expedition would not make any drive home. I would hop in this SUV and drive anywhere without worry. We are wholesale dealers, please do not ask us to arrange, or compensate for delivery, shipping, transportation, or other related expenses. Please note that we reserve the right to cancel bids from zero or negative history bidders. If you have no or negative history, you Must contact us prior to bidding. All of our auctions recommend, and we encourage, Local Purchase & Pick Up! Please make at least a $250 non-refundable deposit within 1 day via paypal. Full payment to be made within 7 days via wire transfer or cash. Any car not paid for and picked up with 7 days of auction ending will be considered non-paying bidder and accumulate a $10 per day storage fee, unless other arrangements are made. Please feel free to call us directly at 804-928-9099 or 804-938-8767. Please add a one time Dealer Processing Fee of $199 fee to any final, winning bid and .05% local tax, usually less than $4. This fee covers any expenses such as courier fees, final delivery cleaning, etc. email carnet1@verizon.net with any questions or concerns. Happy Bidding! Please ask any questions before bidding!
