Vehicle Detail

1967 Triumph TR4A. This convertible is a California black plate survivor with only 43,079 documented three-owner miles. I’m the third owner and have owned this vehicle for 10 years. It is Commission #STC 67 CT66359L with Engine #CT66441. Non-IRS model with live axle. Car is white with black trim. This car has the very rare factory aluminum wheels used by Triumph racing in the sixties. The car is currently registered in California. The engine was rebuilt in the 1980s and has a little over 20,000 miles on the rebuild. Oil pressure is good and the car runs cool. Gauges work, horn works, car runs and drives. Transmission shifts nicely and the steering is tight. This is an un-restored original that has been maintained and upgraded as needed. The seat covers are newer and in excellent condition. Windscreen is new from Moss. Carpet is in good condition, but is not original to car. Tonneau cover, soft-top and cover are very nice replacements and in good condition. It has the original Firestone whitewall spare tire and the wheel has the original factory paint in very nice condition. I have the correct Triumph radio to go with car (currently has an aftermarket cassette radio). Lights and blinkers work. Brakes work. Glass is good. Windows roll up and down fine. Tires have around 100 miles on them. Exhaust is recent and in good condition. Plastic window for convertible top is fogged due to age. Paint condition shows areas that have been repainted – there are stone chips and small dents/dings. There is original paint in the boot (trunk), under the bonnet (hood) and in the engine compartment. The frame and wheel wells are original and undisturbed with the exception of a repair I made to the frame under the car – it appears to be from a misplaced jack. This repair was professionally made and the area painted (see photos). Other small repairs were made to the body where mud was caked under the front lower front fender (size of a silver dollar) and the front of the right rear fender (size of a quarter). These repairs were made with welded metal and painted to blend. The car will benefit from a re-spray and will need minimal prep, if you go that route, since there are not rust issues. The side mirrors are cheap aftermarket. I removed the passenger’s side mirror (leaving holes to be welded up), but use the driver’s side and have kept that in place. There is additional period cooling added to increase the radiator capacity. The car starts right up every time and benefits from an aftermarket addition in the ignition/coil. Panel and door gaps are very good. The car leaks some oil (it is original). A nice, original, no rust car that you can enjoy now. History: This car was purchased at Imperial Imports, 1139 E Street, San Bernadino, CA 94210 on 7/29/67 for $3,396.40 plus $90 Preparation of Freight. I have over fifty documents that go with this car including the original motor vehicle purchase order, motor vehicle conditional sale contract and security agreement and documentation showing it came with a radio, heater and the aluminum wheels. Again, the car has always been in California. Call with questions: (209) 747-9201 USA Pacific time. Terms: $500 deposit via PayPal at auction end and balance due within one week from auction end via certified check or money order. When funds clear, I release the car. You arrange shipping or come by and drive it away. Car is located near Sacramento, CA.
