Vehicle Detail

You're looking at a 1986 Audi Coupe GT automatic with 89,350 miles and a digidash (non-commemorative edition). Has served as my reliable daily transportation for the past 4 years, but I've recently purchased a new VW, so its time for my trusty coupe to go. Positives: Engine: 5-cylinder engine runs strong after warming up, easily keeps up with traffic. Does have a leaky valve cover gasket and burns/leaks a bit of oil (usually topped the oil off after around 350 miles, where it would be halfway between the "min" and max". Also has the classic vintage Audi ticking lifter noise that comes and goes away randomly. Transmission: the automatic transmission works smoothly once warm, a little slow-to-react when cold (has been this way since I've had it). Body: Is straight and relatively rust-free, except the passenger-front fender and door sill has some rust developing (not too visible from the outside yet. A bit of surface rust on the lower drivers door. Interior: Excluding the drivers' seat, the interior is in great shape for its age. The dash is free of cracks. All electronics work (including both windows, a miracle for an Audi of this age!). The power mirrors do work, but when I replaced a driver's side doorhandle, I forgot to reconnect the mirror connector when I put it back together. Hella 550s on the bumper, a pretty conservative Kenwood aftermarket CD/MP3 stereo, and Infinity Reference front / Boston Acoustics rear speakers are also included. Negatives: Strut tower bushings are both shot, making the front wheels rattle over low-speed bumps. Front tires are in bad shape (I have a pair of new tires that I'll include with the car). Rears tires have about 60-70%. Driver's seat frame is broken at shoulder-height as of a few months ago, so there is back support, but the upper-back area isn't supported well. Most likely can be welded and fixed, but never got around to it. The tornado red paint is pretty rough, I believe it was repainted sometime before I bought it. The paint on the doors and fenders is in good shape, but the clearcoat failed on the hood and roof. A bit of rust, as mentioned above. Exhaust has developed a small hole somewhere in the middle, so its a bit loud, but not completely unmuffled. After fitting the included new tires on the front and replacing the strut tower bushings, I don't see any reason why this car couldn't get you from Point A - B more many more miles. If not that, then it has many good parts. However, due to the tires being very bad at the moment (vibrating with the belt showing on one of them) I wouldn't drive it very far from here without a truck or the tires being fitted.
