Vehicle Detail

Here is very detailed Ebay ad for a most excellent Nissan.......enjoy the ride! Bought this vehicle myself in December 2005. It had 7, that is SEVEN total miles on it after my brief demo drive. This is my SUV and not some middle market seller who claims how wonderful a vehicle is after he guesses at or is told the history while looking to make a backend profit. You can figure out what that means. I am also able to give you every detail of the car so that you will have no surprises. If you prefer an ad where I just say how the car runs good and looks nice, engine starts and toss some shiny clean pictures in the ad then let me know. My guess is that a true buyer wants to know exactly what they are getting without neglecting to mention all the details. The total fast track on the bad is real easy: TPMS sensors are not accurate due to upgraded OEM wheels, there are scratches in the plastic, some fool left a small scratch on the exterior paint, one wheel has curb rash, and the fuel gauge sensor is the only recall on my Xterra. I just simply refuel every 400 miles. Everything else is all good, but do please read on. I know it has never been ::: rebuilt, repaired, hailed on, smoked in, smashed, abused, used as a Mad Max stunt car (though that would have been a pretty cool fact), neglected in oil changes, and has always been driven responsibly by one person. It does not squeak, rattle, or leak anywhere. This stellar Xterra also has no tow trailer hitch so you do not have to worry about the transmission and engine already being burnt out. It has effortlessly moved all 200 pounds of me during ownership. On the dash, the temperature, oil pressure, voltmeter, safety warnings, oil temp, ABS, seatbelt, VDC, SLIP, airbag, tachometer, speedometer, and odometer rollouts all look clean and show zero problems. It is to quote Nissan with their Z car characterization,....... AWESOME. Lots of easy highway miles put on the odometer with no bumpy roads or stop and go mess. This is the safest type of purchase you can do on Ebay due to this and the known factual history and honesty of this seller. It is also not a rental car, a thrashed out demo car sold as new, a second or third owner car, a lease return where the leaser has no real interest in the longevity of the car, nor is it a car from a title washing state like Florida or others where so many are found. It is certainly not some bizarre salvage title vehicle where the car was totaled and deemed a waste of time to be cost effective to safely restore. These can get slapped back together at discount prices for an obscure resell but do you really want to trust the frame integrity and future safety of a vehicle deemed not worthwhile to repair by a professional insurance adjuster??? Also, if you think there is a reason so many cars "from" Florida are for sell there or all the northeast or northern salt ridden rusted out vehicles are for sell in other states then you may be on to something. This is a Texan car from day one. Texas never allows title washes and this particular Xterra has never even seen another state. SO JUST WHAT THE HECK KIND OF CAR IS THIS YOU MAY ASK ?? A Nissan made right here in the USA in Tennessee. It actually has more domestic assembly and parts than most "American" owned companies these days. Anyway, I digress,... It's a 4x2 rear wheel drive car with VDC ( vehicle dynamic control which works great on slippery roads and computer applies brakes to selected wheels to nudge car back to straight line), SLIP control which keeps you from spinning the drive tires endlessly on wet, slick and or icy roads. You are right if you assume the car is also loaded with ABS for brake safety and the NHTSA required airbags. The seats are all manual adjust which is lightning fast as opposed to waiting for a little motor to churn you back and forth. The back seat has the NHTSA recommended child safety harness straps that secure from the top and bottom sides. Very safe car with all features working safety wise and full featured in the off-road mechanics area too. Again, it is not a four wheel drive or automatic transmission. Of course you get absolutely everything stock as it was assembled and placed at the factory. There are no weird modifications, 25" wheels to destroy the suspension, or custom dual turbos to pulverize the block. I wanted to jack the car up an extra 14" on the suspension and then install underframe neon lights that blinked on it but changed my mind. I did think about putting a Jack in the Box antenna ball on it once though : ) The car has great upper hand holds for all occupants and a multitude of factory installed tie down points that spans the entire length of headliner except the front seat area. I will even include the easily adjustable and highly effective OEM Nissan metal cargo divider. It is very rugged, cost me $100 and can help tighten down the cargo space in an instant. You also get the NISSAN OEM emergency kit that is $40, and the OEM rear seat floormat, OEM passenger floormat, though I am not too sure where the driver side mat is. I can not guarantee to locate as I currently use a thick rubber channeled floor mat on the driver side. You also get all the owners manuals, my service history with oil changes, and all three factory Nissan keys. And that’s not all ! You also get the extremely well reviewed, high quality 4.0 liter V6 engine with the much preferred timing chain on the 05+ Xterra, this is very good unless you enjoy people tearing off the precision factory assembled front section of your engine to replace a rubber belt. As you can guess I do not……….All 04 and older Xterra’s use the cruddy belt style. Bummer for those other cars, not to mention the owner’s wallet. :::::::TPMS means tire pressure monitor system FYI.::::::::::: This is an exceptionally well kept Nissan that currently has the nice aluminum 2009 Xterra LE 17" OEM Tire and Wheel combo. I did this strictly for the sportier SUV looks. The TPMS sensors are on the LE wheels, but NISSAN changed out the TPMS box and sensor setup for 2009 so my 2006 sensor box will not read them. oh the humanity........ Please note the little TPMS sensors not reading will NOT affect TEST READY status for the idiotic state inspections. It just affects you understanding how a car feels if you get a tire blowout when you run over something real sharp. TPMS only work with tire pressure changes over 8 psi.... thats alot. If you understand this, you will not drive around with a flat looking silly or confused. This should be quite obvious to any driver unless they are 16 years old or never look at tires. If I install the 2006 wheel and tire combo on the vehicle, I get an accurate TPMS reading for whatever that's worth. However, just like before this technology existed, I simply look at the tire and see if the pressure looks low. All 8 of my tires hold air extremely well, there are no slow leaks or garbage like that. If you are on a budget I could think about swapping back the steel 16" tires and wheels and also the TPMS would work, the 17 look MUCH better though. So basically I have 8 low wear very new high quality brand, perfectly balanced and performing tires and 8 wheels but the winner will only get the FOUR 17" LE wheels and tires you see in the pictures unless expressly agreed to something different beforehand. One of these LE wheels has the dreaded curb gouge look to it but is only cosmetic. The wheel arrived this way when I swapped to 17” and I have not done any cosmetic work to the one 17" wheel. The 16" steel wheels are all flawless but again its probably less confusion to leave them off the bargain table. If curious, I value these 16" steel wheel and tire backups with TPMS, balanced tires, low tread and all that stuff at an additional $800 for the extra set. The 16" tires alone would cost $ 600 at Discount. So $800 extra for the car with 8 wheels and 8 tires or I can INSTALL the 16" OEM steel wheel and highly rated Yokohama Geolander tire combo and REMOVE the 17' LE wheels and tires from the vehicle, TPMS will work again and I will deduct $500 from whatever your winning bid was. Or just take the car with the 17” only and forget the additional math. :::::::TPMS means tire pressure monitor system FYI.::::::::::: ALSO added the nice side steps that run down the side for easier step up to vehicle, AND the rear hatch struts were replaced OEM of course by myself 4 months ago. The glass hatch is very heavy and the tiny struts did not have the same force to deal with it after several years. All is well now. The battery is quite recent, starts with authority, the tires have over 85% tread easily and this car tracks straight, true, smooth...... no squeaks, no rattles, no odd noises of things loose or going bump in the night. Brake pads have lots of life left and the rotors are true, I hardly ever used the brakes on my crazy 150 mile roundtrip commute to work. It was a wide open highway fortunately. windshield wipers excellent. XTERRA is a six speed manual,....... you have to physically move the shifter when you want to change gears......UGHHHHHHHHHHHHH ! well, that's sarcasm for you Auto only folks. Shifter and clutch are Nissan quality that is to say very nice and pleasant and highly effective if you need to scoot out of someone's way quick. 2006 Nissan XTerra is Motor Trend SUV of the year and always gets accolades. The excellent 4.0 liter V6 has over 285 foot pounds of torque! That is best in class by far in the SUV category. ... this is also a huge improvement over 2004 and earlier Xterra's. Speaking of 2004 and earlier Xterra's with their "mighty" 170 horsepower, not a single engine, powertrain, electrical, or mechanical part or panel was carried over to the 2005. 2005+ are a complete and total improvement over the former years. I also waited one year on the new model changeover in 2005 as it is always wise to give a new model production line a year to have practice on new tooling and other factors. You see. I wanted to know if its possible to get 300,000 miles on this vehicle without having a single bolt turned except for the oil pan, lugs ( for tire changes ) and air filter cover bolts, but plans have changed to move from 4 cars down to 3. Now you know you are bidding on a pampered car with regular Mobil1 Oil changes, avoidance of all potholes, never smoked in, adult mature driven with all original paint and body parts. ONLY ONE SUPER SMALL DOOR DING DOWN THE ENTIRE SHEETMETAL... now that's what I call being careful and parking away from other folks and their nasty minivans. The engine was perfectly meshed until well over 2,000 miles so all the seals and gaskets had time to seat and seal properly. If one does not break the engine in correctly and instead chooses to hotrod and race the revs, the engine just is not going to last long before smoke and degraded performance. IE I don't redline or putt around lugging only 900 rpm's on the dial. The engine loves to breathe from 1500 to 4000 and runs perfectly fine in all ranges. Speaking of which, while I do not drive like a bat out of hell, I also do not drive like it is a golf cart, and yet still........ ***** THIS XTERRA with 6 speed manual pulls only 2,100 rpm's at 70 mph in 6th gear, 440 miles on a single 22 gallon tank as it will get 21 mpg all day long like this and originally was capable of 23 mpg until the fool EPA forced the ethanol additive into our nice fuel here in Texas and elsewhere.....ughhh on ethanol right? ***** don't get me started on that political nightmare. Car was taken care of exceptionally well by myself and I only had her in the shop ONCE to have some Nissan guru mechanic perform a slight adjustment on the parking brake as it always had one notch too much slack and they swapped in a new OEM NISSAN brand cd/ stereo because the original one stopped ejecting the cd's. This was done about 2 years ago and no problems since. The Nissan stereo will play store bought and burned WAV files but I am pretty certain it will not play burned MP3 files. The sound quality is truly very nice for a stock or even an upgraded radio. Other than that and the highly rated Discount Tire company, nobody has tinkered with or been anywhere near this car, I KNOW the service history of this car is impeccable. Stereo, steering, ** * * * true emissions results, ice cold Air condition and toasty heat, exhaust, brakes, windshield and wipers, alignment and tire balance, suspension, electrical, engine power train, lights, interior amenities, everything all perform showroom condition. There are really only two caveats. One is thanks to EPA pinheads though. Unless you are new to cars, you may know about the problems the OBD on board diagnostic readings will give with the actual fuel cap reading required to pass some stupid EPA of 100% vapor containment even at the point of a small exterior gas cap. The car has no emissions problem in reality. The code is beyond stupid, but I will be upfront that every 1,000 miles (sometimes it goes 3,000) or so, you may get the service light informing you of this. I have bought a $ 40 code reader and simply erase the inane code so I don't have to look at it. Vehicle has been like this from 30,000 miles but has passed all inspections with this inconvenience. You just simply erase the code as it WILL clear. It is clear now and I can even update a new car inspection for you but its not due for another 5 months. We can even update it on agreement to purchase the car. I will pay for the inspection. You will note this car scores at the highest range on the 92 car report, they automatically deduct points each year regardless of vehicle. * * * * * * * the fail pass fail pass on the same 11- 4- 2008 date is from dimwits at one station who messed with the fuel cap for 30 minutes trying to get a repeat defect as the idiot light on the service stations computer showed evaporation leak at cap site. This was the first time I knew the EPA could waste my time with all this code garbage and I have since figured it out. Why in the world the machine saved it as fail and pass when in the end the fail part was in error is beyond me.... other than the usual rant about any kind of bureaucracy. The 1-6-2010 fail is only an inane saved vehicle history from a gas station that told me the little code I can clear every 1,000 miles or so had not been cleared early enough to be what they call a TEST READY code for the inspection. I paid them no money as the vehicle inspection was ceased there. STILL now I find out ((just today pulling up this history report)) that since it was inspected at a different service station and easily cleared, well the old service station sees it as a no return no show and still reports the incomplete process......... gotta love that but now that is all explained. Again, another inspection is not due until January but I am free to provide this especially if you have any hesitation. If you are out of state I don't believe it serves any purpose as the vehicle must be inspected by your state on title transfer. 10/17/2007 DENTON, TX 19,436 State Agency EMISSION INSPECTION PASSED SAFETY INSPECTION 12/01/2007 DENTON, TX Motor Vehicle Dept. The gauge has not worked for 3 years, I do not like mechanics delving into cars I own but if you prefer and can not deal with the gauge not being accurate then there is one and only one applicable recall on this Xterra. I even copy and pasted it below. 1. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:AUXILLARY TANK Recall Number: 10V075000 Number of Vehicles Affected: 80689 Date Owners Notified On: N/A Vehicle: 2006 Nissan Xterra Defect Description: NISSAN IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2006 AND MODEL YEAR 2008 FRONTIER, XTERRA AND PATHFINDER VEHICLES. THE MOLDED FUEL TANK SHELLS CAN DEFORM, CAUSING THE FUEL SENDER FLOAT ARM TO CONTACT AN EMBOSSMENT MOLDED INTO THE TANK SHELL CAUSING THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FUEL GAUGE TO SHOW THAT THE VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY ONE QUARTER TANK WHEN THE FUEL TANK IS EMPTY. Corrective Action: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE FUEL LEVEL SENDING UNIT INSIDE THE FUEL TANK WITH A NEW ONE THAT HAS A MODIFIED FLOAT ARM. THIS SERVICE WILL BE PERFORMED FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN ON OR BEFORE MARCH 22, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NISSAN AT 1-800-647-7261. In other words, it appears starting in March 2010 they are telling 2006 Xterra owners with bugged fuel gauges that they can install a shiny new FUEL SENDING UNIT that is stored in the fuel tank itself. To me it is much simpler to just know I can get well over 400 miles on a full tank and just go off the odometer. Its your choice if you want to mess with service but it can be a covered repair by Nissan if that is your cup of tea. Also, and purely cosmetically speaking, the beautiful blue metallic paint is not absolutety flawless as there are the inevitable little touchup paint points performed with the super small touchup paint bottle due to gravel or whatnot kicked into the paint. Somebody scraped or dragged a rice width size and 3 inch length of paint off in one fail stranger induced abomination. It has been touched up painted over but I do not guarantee showroom mint paint everywhere as most people don't give a hoot if they damage someone else's car. The vast majority of the blue metallic paint really shines up beautiful though as 99.4% of the paint is unblemished and carefully waxed and maintained. Inside has no tears but I do believe the floorboard carpet will have a few small stains that are not going to come out. It could be slightly spray painted I suppose but it's a lot simpler just to leave the floor mats over it. ....... Backseat never sat in. The front seats look showroom and have only been sat in by low weight people if you know what I mean. ALL the seats are very comfortable with a high commanding view of the road and plenty of room for everyone to stretch or feel comfortable unless you are 7'2" and or 400 pounds. What I am saying is the ergonomics on this SUV are at the tops. The Trunk area, or hatch open, if you prefer, does have some scraping to the deck back there as it is rugged, hard plastic that will scratch if another rough object is placed on top. Unless of course you never have to turn the vehicle and have anything slide from area to area. Again, a large cargo area mat would cover this up but then again it is a rugged SUV so it does go hand in hand. There is a very nice hidden storage tray in the trunk area too as the spare tire with 100% tread is stored on the undercarriage and the tire change tools and jacks have a spot under the backseats. The glove box lower cover has scratches in its plastic molding as well from the edges of briefcases brushing down the side of the glove box on the way to the floor. Scratch points can also be found around the inner trunk hatch area as it also molded plastic. The car is exceptionally clean but I can’t rub scratch points out of plastic. The car is just not perfect on the inside and has the same used points as other Xterra’s I imagine,.. but the interior is certainly overall really nice. I do not eat in the car or smoke, and there are no mildew or stale odors inside. Now you know this vehicle as well as I do, its really been a pleasure to start up and drive so many places. Holy Moly, I should also mention you have to PHYSICALLY Roll the windows up and down, and insert a key into the door lock notch as opposed to pressing a button on a remote.... UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH again I know, life is tough. This will certainly yield less mechanical complications down the road and again I am a long time Nissan buyer of many models and was going for longevity. Usually after manually rolling down the window, I like to take a 5 minute breather until I get my oxygen level back to norm. One can never be too safe I suppose....... sarcasm is grand..... do not fear the manual window rollers.......its going to be ok. To sum up, this is my personal car and damn well taken care of. I know it has never been::: rebuilt, repaired, hailed on, smoked in, abused, neglected in oil changes, and has always been driven responsibly by one person. It does not squeak, rattle, or leak anywhere. I have driven clutch cars for 25 years so am well aware of how to drive these and make the shift points correctly. Only once was it out of my sight and that was only for 45 minutes at Nissan. .... NO boneheads or incompetent people have been able to change or half-do anything to her. My 2006 Nissan Xterra is in very nice condition to look at and an absolutely wonderful drive mechanically and metaphysically speaking. You have my word and its also obvious when you drive it, this is not a flooded out, wrecked or abused vehicle. It is a BARGAIN price to drive something very capable and very reliable. This may get listed at a super steal price of $ 9,000 No Reserve auction in the near future, say October or November, but I will certainly try and get $10,400 for the time being. This is a deal and a half if you take into account the safety and honesty of dealing with an actual car owner and not someone in the paper trade business. Yes, I could overlist the Xterra at $11,000 and then easily offer a "discount" but lets not do the games here, its the same nice price for anyone. RIGHT NOW THE CAR STARTING BID of $9,800 is NO RESERVE, highest bid wins. IF you are new on EBAY please note most car auctions are decided in the final 5 minutes if not the final 5 seconds. If you do not have high speed internet it can be difficult to lowball last second bids. Remember Luke, it has the Upgraded 2009 LE aluminum wheels and BF Goodrich Trail tires and OEM side steps. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> AUCTION ENDS THURSDAY BEFORE NOON EBAY TIME............. EBAY TIME IS ALWAYS PACIFIC COAST TIME ZONE SO ADJUST ACCORDINGLY ............if east of the west ......... <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> HOW TO BUY MY CAR ??? I have sold 5 of my personal cars on Ebay over the years and they work out quite well. If you are out of town and don't mind paying the shipping fee, simply go to a CHASE, WELLS FARGO, BANK OF AMERICA, and tell them you wish to finance this. Your bank will assume all the paperwork to verify my title is clean and clear which it is, and they will handle the money transfer, notarizes sales, and basically insure all parties are protected. IF you are local and can pickup, then finance using the same methods above so it is a well known bank entity and then you can save on shipping of course. If you are local and want to pay cash, I simply need to hand the vehicle off to you at a CHASE, WELLS FARGO, or BANK OF AMERICA where your cash can be exchanged into a cashiers check for me. This cost about 3 dollars and again protects all parties. I have the clear title and we sign the bill of sale. The main point is the bank is a NATIONAL chain of banks that both parties know. You may have to open a new account depending on your plans if your only bank is Big Ed and Marlene's Zany Bank of the Hills. I absolutely do not deal in trades, personal loans, or exchanging of "priceless" fur coats in lieu of cash payment. Remember I would like a $200 PayPal deposit required within 72 hours which is simple to do and protects my interest in holding the car if the online buyer is not able to complete the purchase for whatever reason. NOTE THAT CAR IS LISTED LOCALY TOO. If a situation occurs where someone viewing the car locally wishes to buy at the agreed price, then the car auction will be removed. Any Buy It Now selection placed online will be deferred to a local buyer who has a $200 deposit in hand. DO NOT PAY FOR THIS CAR'S ENTIRE PRICE USING PAYPAL. The PayPal service will charge me 5% or roughly $500. Please verify the bank or cashier's check plan. PLEASE Come by for a test drive and or take a look if you are local. I am more than happy to show the car but no joyrides please. I never let others drive my vehicles but you may see a full professional walk around and inspection of the car and then go for a trip in the passenger seat. Many people really don’t understand what to look for on used cars but I can help explain if you prefer. The liability of having someone else get in a wreck on a test drive because they don't understand the power of this engine or are unfamilar with 6 speed manuals or for whatever reason is not worth it. I drive this car several times a week and since there are no squeaks, rattles, and everything functions I am sure you will agree it is a very wise choice. This is quite simply because the car just works and is well taken care of. I live in DENTON, TEXAS 30 miles northwest of Dallas, 30 miles Northeast of Fort Worth. Examples of the few personal cars I have sold on here. All my feedback is 100% positive as you can see. Excellent Car! Smooth transaction. Very nice to work with.
