Vehicle Detail

This marks the end of a long and motley relationship with my dream car. When she runs it's pure joy. When she doesn't run (like now) it's costly. And there's all sorts of things that need fixing on this old girl. My vintage 1980 Porsche 911SC is in good original condition. UN RESTORED and waiting for your touch. 190180 original miles, and the motor has started making an awful whooossshhh sound within minutes of starting. It's an alarming, horrible sound, and I know better than to run it. The left side back-up light, left & right side parking lights, left and right front side marker lights, and hazard switch are inoperable. It needs a new battery. the rear defrost doesn't work, and the A/C blows warm air. The front shocks are leaking slightly, it needs new tires, some attention to the clutch will be needed although the cable is new. The cruise control needs work, the valve train is noisy (valve guides / rockers chattering). But the most alarming sound is my mechanic's estimate of $10,000. for an engine re-build. Truly horrifying! Now some Porsche enthusiast out there will say "Aw that's way too high! I could tear apart and re-build that motor for a few hundred bucks in parts." Well Sir or Madam, this is the project car for YOU! The body, paint, and smoke-free interior is in pretty good condition with a few exceptions. There are two splits in the leather drivers seat (see pictures), the rubber seals around the removable Targa top need to be replaced. There are noticeable chips in the paint on the front spoiler, and some minor chips and dings you would expect to see on the body of a 30 year old car. This car has never been wrecked, has no rust, is straight and true with no significant body damage. Everything about this beautiful girl is original, unmolested. I've installed a drip charger to keep the battery up during winter storage (always garaged) and two extremely handy tie-down loops to the under carriage for ease of transport (flatbed tow drivers love this). Good luck, happy bidding!
