Vehicle Detail

Gorgeous numbers matching 1968 Mustang Coupe. J-Code 302 V8 with 4V automatic and C-4 automatic transmission. When restoring the car, I found the correct VIN number stamped in both the engine block and transmission. Although each has been meticulously rebuilt, they are the originals for this car. The engine has a mild cam, flat top pistons, and was bored .030 over. It has a new Holley 450 carb on it with a petronix ignition. There are just 30,000 miles on the engine rebuild, and it starts right up (hot or cold) and runs flawlessly. This car has been a daily driver for me since I bought it in 1998 until I painted it in June of this year. The transmission was rebuilt by a local rebuilder that specializes in building C-4's for race cars. It shifts smoothly and positively. I just finished painting the car in 1968 Ford Candyapple Red and restoring the interior. The door panels and dash trim are brand new. Most of the exterior chrome is new also. The paint looks great and turns heads anywhere, but does have a few minor imperfections. This mustang has factory power steering and a remote mirror. It has drum brakes all the way around, but they have been completely rebuilt and stop the car just like they have done since 1968. The suspension has been completely rebuilt, and the car handles very well with its flaming river steering box. I have put a lot of work into this car and never thought I would sell it. It was built for reliability and use as a fun daily driver that would turn heads. Unfortunately, I am forced to sell it due to financial reasons. Take a close look at this one...you won't be disappointed! This car is available any time if you want to come look at it. Give me a call at 865-660-8482 Terms: Buyer to pay for car and pick it up within 10 days of auction close. Funds will be verified before the car leaves my garage. I have a clean title for this car. In addition, a bill of sale will be required for my personal records. Car is for sale locally, and I reserve the right to end the auction early if a local buyer comes along. On Sep-02-10 at 16:15:58 PDT, seller added the following information: 9/2/10 Added a few pictures of the undercarriage. Keep in mind this car has been a daily driver, so you can't eat off of the bottom like the concourse show cars. Like any car that is driven regularly, the undercarriage has dirt on it. There also is some red overspray under there from the recent paint job, but there isn't any rust. I maxed out the number of pictures that ebay will allow, so email me if you want any more pics. You can probably see from the pictures that the mufflers are dented and were that way when I got the car. The exhaust is one of the only items that I have not touched since buying the car in 98. I like the sound of it and didn't want a change. The mufflers are ugly but they still sound good and flow freely though. On Sep-03-10 at 19:07:37 PDT, seller added the following information:I have been asked several times about the reserve. It is $8500, which is much less than what I have invested. Happy Bidding!
