Vehicle Detail

fishfolks store You are bidding on a 1989 SALEEN SSC. This car was purchased October 1, 1999 from the original owner with only 16,199 miles on it. It has been garaged since the day it left the dealers showroom. Since that date, it has been kept covered in a climate controlled garage and lovingly cared for. Today the car has 33,900 miles on the chassis and the new motor has only 350 miles on it. It has never been exposed to, or driven in the rain or snow. It has never been raced, abused in any way, or been in an accident. The car does not leak or burn any oil. It has been changed 3 times since the new motor was installed. Thanks to Big Daddy Performance of Lakewood, NJ for making this car what it is today! Steve Saleen manufactured 160 SSC’s in 1989 and this one is number 53/160. It is VIN # 1FABP41E3KF227372. The SSC was only manufactured in 1989 and is a true collectable for the serious Mustang enthusiast. The car was professionally modified as a one of a kind road race machine. It was built to put out in excess of 900hp and was then de-tuned to 750hp at the rear wheels, in order to be driven on the street. This car is not for the faint hearted, and driving it is truly an awesome experience that words can’t describe!I am selling the car for my brother, who has recently had a double knee replacement and is unable to drive the car any longer. The work that has been done on this car includes, but is not limited to the following items (the list is more extensive than what I have mentioned here): Brakes and Wheels: Front Brakes: Baer 14” cross drilled/slotted ventilated rotors with 6 piston Alcon calipers.Front Tires: Bridgestone Potenza 245/45/17 with virtually no wear.Front Wheels: 17” Cobra R’s, sandblasted and powder coated to match the original Saleen wheels.Rear Brakes: Baer 12” cross drilled/slotted ventilated rotors with 4 piston Baer touring caliper package.Rear Tires: Bridgestone Potenza 265/40/17 with virtually no wear.Rear Wheels: 17” Cobra R’s, sandblasted and powder coated to match the original Saleen wheels. On Aug-29-10 at 13:54:12 PDT, seller added the following information: Please note: Big Daddy Performance of Lakewood New Jersey did the work on this car. See their site at http://www.bigdaddyperformance.com/index Dwayne and Mike are the owners of Big Daddy and are intimately familiar with this car. They have been in this business for 25 years and have built some of the top Fords in the country, besides winning many of the top titles on the east coast. Please feel free to contact them with any questions at 732.363.6236. About Big Daddy Performance (quoted from their site): "Big Daddy Performance created by Dwayne Gutridge in 2003 and established in 2006 brings over 25 years of hardcore racing experience. Dwayne started building and racing cars in 1980 when he rebuilt his '71 Cougar, which had a 351c with a FMX Trans and a open 9 inch rear in it. Learning Fords from his dad Joseph Gutridge who always drove ford vehicles. Soon after Dwayne had rebuilt a 351c which was bored .040, SpeedPro pistons, anti pump up lifters Gapp And Roush kit, Ultradyne racing cam, Accel Motorsport distributor , Holley Strip Dominator intake, 780 carb, Hooker custom headers and Thrust mufflers, FMX was replaced with a C6 Trans, and 4:11 gears housed in a 9" rear with a 4 pin Detroit Locker rear. The little Cougar accelerated down the quarter 13.41@103 mph. After the USAF and graduating from PSI Institute for Digital Computer Repair, Dwayne decided to embark on his first love cars and started working for Ford as an apprentice in 1983 where he started R&R on engines and transmission within 6 months. It didn't take long and in 1988 he became a certified A Technician and in July 1989 became a certified Electronic Engine Control Specialist, which was followed by a certification in Advance Engine Performance in March of 1990. From the start of the 5.0 movement, Dwayne Gutridge has always been at the forefront of innovation and a large part of the Mustang movement. When he started his business Outrageous Mustangs in 1990 his goal was to become a leader in the sport. His legendary black 1988 Mustang GT incorporated the first 5 lug conversation kit by using rotors from the Lincoln Mark 7 and axles from a Ford Ranger truck. Dwayne developed his 5 lug conversation kit long before Ford Motorsports offered their conversion kit. Soon after purchasing his 1988 Mustang, Dwayne overhauled the engine to handle the additional horsepower of a Paxton Supercharger. This was the first Mustang with a supercharger on the East Coast. Outrageous Mustangs, Dwayne's performance shop, led the charge of centrifugal superchargers by becoming one of first dealers for Vortech Superchargers, selling kits to Dayton Ford and Downs Ford long before they became dealers themselves. Big Daddy and Outrageous Mustangs were the first to bring Extrude Honing to the forefront. "It was the secret to many of my early successes," Big Daddy admits. Also, the cost and time it takes to have a set of heads ported vs. extrude honing made it more cost-effective for racer's on a budget. Big Daddy also notes that while full hand porting was thought of as the way to make additional horsepower, many engines where over ported or over cammed. To prove the advantages, Extrude Hone Heads and Intake were used to power Big Daddy's record setting 89 Mustang LX into the record books, becoming the first car to run 7's on radial tires on January 29, 2004 a feat that was once believed to not be achievable." On Aug-31-10 at 22:16:47 PDT, seller added the following information: My brother and I double checked the size of the front rotors on the car tonight and they are 13" not 14", as I originally posted when the auction went live. I want to thank 95S351's of the SCOA for pointing out that the 14" rotor would not clear the 17" wheel. I will shoot a couple more close ups of the front and rear calipers and upload them later today or Thursday just to confirm for everyone that the Alcon's on the front are definitely 6 piston and the touring package on the rear are 4 piston. The Baer brakes were installed before Baer sold Alcon back in 2001 and there are less than 5,000 miles on the them. We were looking over the receipts for just the Baer system alone and 10 years ago, the cost to buy and install them was $5,500.00! On Sep-01-10 at 18:52:38 PDT, seller added the following information: Here are the links to the photos of the front and rear Baer calipers, along with the Baer brake adjustment control unit under the hood: http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae142/fishfolks/DSC04814.jpg http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae142/fishfolks/DSC04816.jpg http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae142/fishfolks/DSC04823-1.jpgOn Sep-01-10 at 18:56:36 PDT, seller added the following information: Please excuse the brake dust on the caliper photos that I just uploaded. The car will be washed and brake dust free when the lucky winner picks it up or has it shipped :-)On Sep-02-10 at 22:18:16 PDT, seller added the following information: Here is a link to the Dynot Sheet for the car that was done by Wimper7 Dynojet Performance Program out of Long Island, NY on 08/02/2009 showing maximun tourque at 668 ft. lbs. and maximun power at at 749 hp. This is the real deal and proves the vehicle is putting out the stated horse power and and incredible amount of torque!: http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae142/fishfolks/DynoSheet.jpgOn Sep-04-10 at 09:57:20 PDT, seller added the following information: Correction! The Baer Touring package on the rear of the car appears to be a single piston system as opposed to a 4 piston system. As evidenced by my close up of the rear caliper, there are no pistons on the caliper on the outside of the rotor and we beleive, only a single piston in the center of the inside of the caliper on the inside of the rotor. Please see the link below for a picture of the Baer Touring System: http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae142/fishfolks/Baerrear.jpg My brother will jack the car up later to verify this, as it is too low to the ground to get under it and see the inside of the caliper. We are sorry for any confusion this has caused.
